Here is my 1964 Corvair Spyder.4 speed manual 6 cylanders. I just had it completely overhauled. New Paint, motor was worked on, the turbo and choke cleaned, new carpet, new cd player and speakers, new tune up with plugs and wires. The paint job is a custom paint job of laquer black with color spetrum. So in the sun the car will turn colors of the color spectrum, in the shade look black laquer and in the evening the paint just shimmers beautifully. there is a tear in the front seat (passenger) approx. 6 inches long at the seam. I tried to patch it but overall the seats are in great shape. the top is in great condition (i was told it is about 5 years old). The carpet is made for a '64 corvair and brand new. Tires are newer with great tread and they are firestone. i had to put hood locks on the car because couldn't get trunk open because of no key would work. i did have a new lock put on though. The body is very solid and the underneath is clean and solid too. And this car came from factory with an extra gas door for a gas heater. It has the thumb dent and everything just like the gas fill up side. This car was always stored in a garage from october to about april or may. I stored it in a heated garage last year and kept it covered and now is in my carport covered. It Runs wonderfully, the gas mileage is so so, the turbo functions great (the kids get a kick out of the turbo sound!) The radio is a pioneer with aftermarket kicker speakers. and i did not cut holes in the car to place speakers. i made a boom box so to speak. i have some extra items like seat belts, shrouds, and other odds and ends. The Hub caps all have the gold spider in the middle and there are 5 of these. Everywhere we go people can't stop looking and complimenting!! She is a Beauty!! NOW for the bad. I was taking my daughter to lunch, pulled away from the stop light and the engine lost compression and started a knocking sound. I don't know what this is about and i have no one to fix it for me so that is why i am selling it. It is a very sad thing for me and my family. So i want her to go to a good home. You will have to tow her away i cannot ship. Thanks!! ALSO, I have the 1964 shop manual supplement and the assembly manual plus the drivers guide and pouch for this car and some receipts from before i bought it. Also, if you bid and you win that is sold! please don't come over and say you don't like the color or some other excuse. i was told that one or two of the pistons needs repaired/replaced. so i did have a serious corvair person look at it and that is what he told me. i have not run the car since i brought it home for fear of any more damage. This is a nice everyday car. The pictures of the underneath are typical of the entire bottom of the car. very solid. The trunk is very solid with no rust outs and the interior shots of the front bottom came out nice as well with no rusting or flaking. Like i said, the carpeting is new, it had no carpet when i bought the car and the carpet and padding are specifically made for a 1964 corvair. I am not a car purist but the car did get a lot of compliments at the shows i have taken it to, i have not however had it in a competition show but i was told i could take some prizes. The car is not perfect and i am not presenting it as such but it is overall an extremely nice car, smooth riding and the engine was fantastic. I did have someone look at her and said it wouldn't be a hard fix and the engine is good to go once you fix the one or two pistons that needs fixed. You can take it to shows, it gets tons of looks and you can place for a prize. I was just told by a mechanic that it may be the rocker arm has come loose which is another easy fix. Shifts Beautifully and the engine turns over and stays running if you keep your foot on the pedal but i have only done that twice. I don't want to mess anything up.
