"The 1999 SVT Cobra is not only the first-ever Mustang to leave the factory with a true independent rear suspension, but it also packs 320 horses to boot." Of course, the primary reason for buying the SVT Mustang is for its performance hardware. For 1999, that includes the aforementioned IRS unit and the revised DOHC, 32-valve 4.6-liter V8 found only in the Cobra that, makes 320 horses and 317 foot-pounds of torque. This motor is one of very few in the world that is hand-assembled. Ford estimates a zero-to-60 time of five and a half seconds, and a quarter-mile being covered in 13.8 seconds with a trap speed of 102 mph. This Cobra has 5 spoke 17" Cobra wheels, with 275/40ZR17 tires on all four corners. Stopping is supplied by extra large drilled & slotted front rotors, with genuine Cobra high performance calipers. This car has an Arizona title, that has been branded "salvage title". Please don't ask us why, as we bought the car exactly as you see it, and besides what autocheck shows, we do not know anything more. The "salvage title" issue did take place in 2000 when the car was new, and had 358 miles on it. I am sure all the repair work was done by FORD. The car has no obvious signs of any prior damage. The hood and inner fenders are clean. Paint is nice & shiney, and has no dents, no dings, and no major scratches. The mural on the front of this car is awesome, and was professionally done. There are some spots where the paint is cracking (see my picture with arrows). Please check out all of my pictures of this hard to find 1999 Cobra. The interior on this car is nice, and the headliner is clean. The engine runs strong, and doesn't have any service / check engine lights on, even though it sounds as though the exhaust has had some modifications. We are not sure if everything is smog legal?
