Vehicle Detail

I am selling surplus government vehicles on behalf of my police department. The vehicle listed for sale was purchased in a lot of six cruisers from another law enforcement agency. This particular vehicle was estimated to have been taken out of service in July 2006 (as evidenced by the rip-off calendar on the dash board), and purchased in a kind of "buy one get one free" type of a deal in February this year. This would be the free one, so to speak. So it probably sat for 4 years. Initially it was used as a police cruiser, then the previous owner took little care in removing the striping and scratched/ripped the paint off the car in large areas. The vehicle was then used as a municipal senior citizen taxi service until it was retired. The vehicle did start and does run, however, in an effort to provide full disclosure, here are the known problems No maintenance records available The paint in peeling in huge spots all over the vehicle. The vehicle has rust on nearly every panel. The vehicle has dents and scratches on all panels There are two holes in the roof that have been patched with silicone, standing water was found in the back seat floor-board Several holes drilled in trunk lid for antennas There is some kind of sap or other hardened goo on the hood, windshield, roof, rear window, and trunk lid that won't come off, and therefore the wipers can't clear the window effectively during rain. The quick-jump start connector seen on the front bumper does not appear to be hooked up and the jumper cables do not come with it The clips for the headlight bulbs to be securely fastened are broken The over-drive light blinks The check engine light blinks intermittantly, even after replacing about 6 of the 8 coil-over plugs - misfires on nearly every cylinder have been found with a vehicle scanner, and the coil overs are ususally the reason. The check engine light has lit solidly from time to time, it has shown various reasons, the most common has something to do with emissions, guessing the seal on the gas tank The vehicle was likely in a rear end and front end minor fender-bender at one time due to exposed fiberglass on bumpers, and the fact the trunk doesn't seem to meet up with the rest of the body when closed. The seats are very dirty and probably stained. The fuel door electronic button is broken and/or missing. You have to pry it open to fuel it. The hood release spring must be sprung, you have to pull the release very hard and use a large pocket knife to pry the hood up, usually several tries. More importantly, the vehicle intermittantly slips in speeds between 55 and 65 mph, possibly the reason for the blinking O/D light but that doesn't show up as an error in the car scanner we have. This vehicle was acquired for the purpose of being a parts car to keep the better three cruisers running and that is how it has been utilized, however the car will come with the required parts that would normally render a vehicle operational. The vehicle is SOLD AS-IS, and DOES NOT come with any warranty of any type. The vehicle is required to be disposed of at public auction
