You will be bidding on a RARE 1987 Buick Turbo Regal. This car was turned into a Grand National Clone by the previous owner. I bought this car thinking it was a Grand National. I was devastated when I found out it was not a true Grand National. Someone spent a lot of money and time to make this look like a Grand National. After many years of research I discovered it was originally a very rare Silver (12L) and Dark Gray (15U) 2 Tone (RPO D84) Turbo Regal with many very rare options. It is hard to tell how many 2 Tone Dark Gray Turbo Regals were made. From what I have been told a good quesstimate would be about 50. Please take this stat for what it is worth. This is just a model to show original color. Some of the rare options are Corner Lamps (T87) , Factory Power Astroroof (CF5) , Block Heater (K05). It also has a very rare example of a non-GN Regal having the steel bumper reinforcements. All 1987 Grand Nationals received steel reinforcements. Most non-Grand Nationals received aluminum reinforcements. The code for the aluminum reinforcements are (VD6) for the front and (VD7) for the rears and as you can see this does not have the aluminum bumper codes.This car also has a 8.5 rear end (G80) and limited slip differential (G87). Here is a complete breakdown of each option. There are only (9) options this car is missing. All the other codes on the label are standard items for a Turbo Regal. The VIN states that it is #4,752 out of 65,289 Regal built in 1987. There were ONLY 3,233 Turbo Regals built in 1987. This 1987 Buick has 78,000 original miles. The engine was replaced by GM under warranty at 32,000 miles or so I was told by previous owner. I took off the turbo to get it replaced due to blow-by. So the turbo, wastegate, intercooler, alternator, valve covers all need to be put back together. PLEASE check out the picture before bidding. This car DOES NOT come with a turbo. That is the only thing this car does not come with. All opening have been blocked and NO mice at anytime have made a home in this car. The place it was stored has 5 outside cats, so mice do not have a fighting chance. The body of this car is in very good condition. I have pulled a CarFax and it came back clean with no auto accidents. There is a egg size rust spot on the driver side quarter panel and a little rust under the drivers side door. There also is a crack by the drivers door. The passenger side lock was wrecked when someone tried to steal this car the first 2 weeks I owned it. Also the drivers side door is stuck. I am assuming the latch is just frozen or the cable is broke. It’s a easy fix for someone with the correct tools and knowledge. The paint is in very good condition it just needs a good wash and wax. All 4 tires will need to be replaced. They do not hold air for more than a couple of days. Again PLEASE check pictures before bidding. Inside the car is in good condition. The rear seats look to have some grease or dirt on them and the headliner is falling in the back. The trunk has a Grand National trunk kit. I did have to take the trunk lid cover off to get the label on the trunk lid. It can very easily be put back on with hot glue. I would love to see someone return it to it’s original state. It really just needs alittle TLC and someone with time. I have 3 kids now and just do not have the time to put it back together.
