Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1966 Ford Mustang 2dr. coupe. The car has the original 289 v8 engine and automatic transmission in it. Car is painted red outside and has the original red interior on the inside. Car was originally white when purchased new. This car has a 100% clean and clear title, ready for immediate transfer. This car has had a lot of work done to it to get into a drivable, mechanical condition. This car can be driven daily. Car runs and operates pretty well, but does need some other work beyond what we have already done. In the last 18 months, this car has had the following: brand new complete gas tankbrand new fuel lines front-to-backbrand new fuel pump/filterbrand new front/rear brakes, master cylinder, and front brake linesbrand new coil, solenoid, battery, and underhood electrical wiringbrand new Holley 4bbl. carb, airfilter, breatherbrand new plugs, distributor cap, and wiresbrand new valve cover gaskets, and reconditioned valve coversbrand new Pertronix electronic ignition (did away with points setup)brand new water pump, rebuilt power steering pumpbrand new heater core and heater hosesbrand new shifter, shifter handle, and all new shifter linkageGeneral Info and Operation This car runs and operates extremely well! The engine does need to be rebuilt, but performs fairly well to be the original 289 that came in the car. We replaced much of the electrical wiring and components, as well as adding a brand new Holley 4bbl. carb, electronic ignition, coil, solenoid, battery, etc. The transmission operates well and does have all new linkage, as well as new shifter and hardware. This car sat for 9 years with over a half a tank of gas in it. When we decided to get it running, we had to completely replace the tank, all lines, fuel pump, etc. All is now new and in great working order. The tires are not in great shape, but certainly have some miles left on them. The original hubcaps, as well as an extra set of matching hubcaps are there. The car has new front/rear brakes, master cylinder, new front lines, wheel cylinders, and wheel bearings. The suspension is fairly good shape and has not been replaced by us. This car was painted red in the early 90's and was very poorly done. As you can see in the photos, the paint is chipping off and causing surface rust on the vehicle, most visible on the roof of the car. The car does have some rust areas in the lower fenders, much like all Mustangs of this era do these days. There is no major rust or major cancer spots anywhere on the car. Most all of the rust is surface rust or small spots in the lower fenders and lower panels of the vehicle. The interior is in fair shape and has the original seats, dash, steering wheel, gauges, etc. in the car. The car has a new heater core and lines replaced by us. The heat in this car works, but needs some wiring to finish it up. The glass is in good shape all around. Why we are selling As much as we hate to sell this car, as it is our baby, my wife and I must sell this car immediately. I recently lost my job and we have to pay bills in order to keep our home. Our hope is that this car will go to someone that loves it as much as we do! We want it to become someones project who will love it, restore it, and cherish it like we do. Payment and Pickup This car is located in Greenville, SC and will need to picked up here or buyer may arrange transport upon full payment. A deposit of $500.00 is required within 24 hours of auction end via Paypal. Full payment is required within 7 days of auction end in either cash or a certified cashier's check. I will not accept Paypal for full payment. Please do not bid if you cannot accept these terms. This car has a very nominal reserve set on it. Please bid according to what you are willing to pay for the vehicle. This car must be sold, but we will not give it away. If you have any questions about the vehicle, or need any other pictures of the vehicle, please email ASAP before bidding! I will certainly do everything I can and answer all questions as throughly as I can for you! Thanks and good luck!
