1973 Triumph Stag 37,000 Original Miles Offered for sale is a Mallard Green 1973 Triumph Stag with only 37,000 original miles. Only 2800 Triumph Stags were imported to this country from 1971- 1973.This particular car was purchased new in Portland, Oregon and has lived in Eugene, Oregon its entire life. Triumph equipped these cars with a 3 liter single overhead cam V-8 engine, power windows , power steering and a/c to compete with the Mercedes SL luxury market. A true four passenger convertible, it has excellent performance when fitted with the manual transmission. This car is one of the rarer more desirable 4 speed cars. It is also fitted with a removable steel factory hardtop. We did aquired this rare car from the original owners daughter. It had been run, but not street driven since 1994. The car is in very nice condition, with a nearly flawless interior. The body is excellent and has retains its original paint. The car does have some minor dents(one on the nose, one on the pass door), dings and scratches that have occurred while it was stored. No large damage spots and no rust anywhere on the car. It has been always kept inside a garage when it was in use, and then was parked in a dry airplane hanger when retired 26 years ago. We have no idea why it sat unused, but the same estate had other under 38,000 mile vehicles that sat keeping each other company. We have gotten the fuel system cleaned and the engine does now start and run. Compression checks at 110- 120 lbs in each cylinder. It sounds good and should perform well. The car still needs brake and clutch hydraulic work. Due to the long storage it will also need tires, a/c work, some mufflers and a general test and run in of all the systems before it will be road ready. It would be a dream and easy project for a handy British car enthusiast. The only items known to be missing are the spare wheel and tire,the jack and lug wrench. The chrome ,glass and soft trim are all in such good condition they could be used as found and are representative of a low miles car. We do have some original book and records for this car.
