Please read the entire description and email me with any questions. Car is sold as is please read the entire description before bidding. Serious offers will always be considered. Please refrain from sending insulting offers, Sorry but I'm not in desperate need of money. 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300SL 5-Speed convertible roadster AMG Wheels US spec car, not grey market 3.0L 24 valve 6cly. Rare 5-speed manual gearbox (one of only 242 w/ 5-speed manual transmission) Exterior 2 tone Silver upper/charcoal lower. Interior Blue leather interior 2 tops (Blue cloth soft top/silver aluminum hard top). Hydraulic suspension (front & rear) AMG 16’’ sport rims (Real/Genuine AMG) Sport front Grille Recent service(s) I have done since I acquired the car includes..… 1 brand new tire in rear. The clutch was replaced rite before I bought the car. Brand new OP relay I just installed. The gearbox was serviced w/ clutch. Interior is in good overall condition. The dash is like new no sun cracks. The steering wheel is in good shape minimal leather wear. The center wood trim has some hair lines in it. The drivers seat has a piece missing out of the bottom section for some reason and the side has some entry wear. The passenger seat is in pretty good shape, but if you wanted it to be perfect I would cover the seats with sheepskins or have then re-covered. The climate control, windows and electronics of that nature work fine. The heat works. I have not tried the A/C as of yet. I took off the air box from the motor, it is in the trunk(as seen in pic) The car is presently registered and insured here in PA and does have a clear / clean in hand title. This is NOT a salvage nor rebuilt car. I ran a carfax on the car before purchase and it came up clean. Purchased and selling the car as a project fixer upper. Figured I would fix it up and give it to my wife to drive in the summer, but now I have to make some room for another car. As stated this is a clean titled fixer-upper. Car would also be a great donor for an existing project. The issues…… The car runs and drives but recently started trickling white smoke. I think it is head gasket failure, I'm not sure if is a fuel injection issue or the head gasket but I'm assuming it is worst case and have purchased all the gaskets to replace just in case. All new head gasket and valve cover kits and they do come w/ the sale. Needs 3 new tires has worn tires which were on the (genuine) AMG rims when I purchased them. I replaced one already with a new Pirelli on the rear drive wheel. The owner before me had someone try to install a sony cd player and they messed-up a wire(s) somewhere because now some of the gauges, hazards, radio and power seat switches won’t work. I think it needs a new power mirror switch. The roll bar is up, I'm not sure but Mercedes told me there is a safety feature that locks it up and there is a procedure to get it down again. Car needs some exterior cosmetic and interior work, nothing major, but there are some rips in seats and dents on the body. Car is missing a few interior trims and the rear view mirror, one of the wood trim tops over the drivers side seat panel is missing for some reason. I believe the hose for the air door locks came off somewhere in the drivers door because the passenger door locks with button but the drivers door you need the key to lock the door. Car is nice for someone who has the time and wants to make a little weekend project out of it. I have never removed the hardtop, but I know there is a blue soft top underneath. Since I have not removed the hardtop I have no comment on the soft top condition nor function. Car is being sold as is where is, private sale. No warranty. Car is being sold as a fixer-upper. The car will need to be removed within a reasonable time of auctions end. Buyer is responsible for removal or the car will have to be moved and stored at buyers expense. Due to the white smoke car must be towed away. I have a car being delivered from CA, so i need the space. Buyer is responsible for removal before that time which is within 10 days of auctions end. Must be paid in full within 7 days. This car is also up for private sale, No reasonable offer(s) will be dismissed.
