This is a true sports enthusiasts car, it is over twenty-two years of age and this beautiful coupe still turns heads and attract admiration for it's handsome lines. These cars are less complex than today's versions, yet these are very advanced German engineered vehicles: easy to use electronic features, on-board computer/check systems, with the famous BMW inline six cylinder engine, which twice won the European Championships in the most demanding 24 hours events of Germany's Nurburgring and Spa in Belgium. The rarest US model year for the 635 is this 1988 model, only 185 were manufactured. This even more rare in that it has the 5-speed manual transmission.Engine motor type SOHC 12v 3,439 cc, 8.0:1 compression ratio, Bosch Motronic Injection, 182 Bhp / 214 torque, 3,375 weight. Red Exterior repainted four years past. All original Dove leather interior. The Comfort seats were taken out and replaced with BMW Sport Seats to the front cabin, from E28. Some of the original door handles, and leather center console panels have worn areas, due to use and age. The engine was replaced with a lower mileage M30 B35 motor with 100,000 miles. The body probably has over 200,000 miles on it, however, the overall condition for the age of the car is very good. The Service records are intact, serviced regularly, through certified BMW mechanics. Motorsport Connections of Winston-Salem, NC have performed all major service for the vehicle. It is driven daily. The Front End has been rebuilt, June 2010: includes new upper and lower control arms, tie rods, sway bar endlinks, and wheel bearings. The original SLS Rear Suspension was taken out and replaced with regular coil springs and struts. February,2010. It has H&R Sport Springs with Bilstein Sport Shocks all around, new May, 2010. BMP Design Strur Bar included. Exhaust was upgraded to Billy Boat Cat Back system. February, 2010. Brand New Wheels and Tires May, 2010. 17" ASA AR1 Rims with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Tires New BAV Auto Custom Floor Mats, Black with Red "635CSI" Logo and Red Piping. Headlamps converted to DDM tuning HID with Lamin-X Yellow HighBeam Covers. Brand New Audio System, Alpine Headunit with IPOD Direct Connect, Pioneer Reference Speakers in front, and Polk Audio Component Speakers rear.Subwoofer connections in trunk. Windows recently (May 2010) Tinted 20 percent all around. Additional equipment: Ireland Engineering 25mm Front and 19mm Rear Sway Bara, with gromments & mounts ($500).M Wrench fixed front camber plates. This is a wonderful, recent restoration daily driver, all power windows work, sunroof, switches and controls. Overall very Good Car. This is a bargain considering over $11,000 invested.
