Vehicle Detail

1966 Ford Mustang Coupe 289 V-8 Automatic CLEAR TITLE The car is completely disassembled with the exception of the front and rear suspension and steering. I have had this car for about 3 years, but have too many other restorations in progress and no time for this one. I need the space in my shop for the other project cars. I know the car does not look like much, but looks can be decieving!!! Please read the description for all the details about the car. Thanks!!! This is an early 1966 from the San Jose plant. Build is as follows: Body 65A - Coupe Color U - Tahoe Turquoise Trim 27 - Blue Build Date - 09J - September 9th, 1965 DSO 75 - Phoenix, AZ Axle 6 - 2:80 open Transmission 6 - 3 Speed Crus-o-matic I have the original engine and transmission for the car, 86000 miles on the odometer. I know the history of this car for over the last 20 years. The previous owner was a friend, he bought it around 1986 and it had been in storage for several years then. Believe it or not, I drove this car 3 years ago. The engine ran very strong and the transmission shifted perfectly. It ran so well, that I planned on only cleaning the engine and painting it. The car also came equipped with power steering, which worked at the time. I replaced all the wheel cylinders and brake hoses at that time also. The brakes are still fuctional today. The only items missing are the front fenders, hood, front and rear valances, and drivers door. Since I had planned on restoring the car until other projects came up, these pieces were not worth saving and I discarded them. The passanger door is in usable condition with only minor dents and a small amount of rust in the front corner. Structurally the car is great. All frame rails are rust free! There was some rust in the floors as most mustangs have. The passanger side rear pan was the worst. I have removed the damaged area and was preparing a patch panel from a reproduction piece. The front right panel had some rust in the toe area and has also been removed. The driver front pan has less rust than the passanger side did, but I have not started the repair yet. The left rear pan is solid. The rear seat pan is solid. The trunk floor has minimal rust. There is some lip rust where the gas tank sits. I was going to section some reproduction pieces to repair the damaged area. Sorry I do not have pics of this area, camera quit working while I was taking the pics of the floor. The right quarter panel is nice, needs some minor repair at the rear near the tail lamp. The left quarter panel is removed from the car. It had been damaged and very poorly repaired in the past (over an inch deep bondo in several areas, some did not know what they were doing!!!). From the way the panel looked, the car must have been backed into as the damage was all in one area. With a small amount of work, the car is ready to have a new quarter hung on it. The engine bay is in great shape! The only rust was where the battery sat, usual on most mustangs. I have not done anything yet in this area. I have all the small parts that came off the car, with the exception of the steering wheel. The seats are in great condition. I posted pics of the front seats, the rear seats look just as good. They have evidently been recovered before. I would clean them and continue to used them. The glass for the car is factory tinted and all there!!! This car is ready to have the final body work is all that is needed to finish the chassis and then it is time to reassemble. If there is anything I have forgotten, I will add it to the description. Please feel free to ask me any questions. Thanks for looking! I am requiring a $300.00 deposit within 24 hours of end of auction, which is non-refundable. The balance is due within 7 days of end of auction, No Exceptions. I will provide signed title, by me, and a bill of sale upon pickup. I can store the car for 3 weeks after end of auction. I will deliver up to 250 miles for $2.00 per mile loaded. I will also be glad to assist with helping any transport company load the car.
