Vehicle Detail

1975 R90S w/ an America Easy Rider('74) sidecar. The story on this R90S is as follows: I bought this rig from its' second owner, Bill Draper of Martinsville, VA. He bought his first BMW in the summer of '75 from the local dealer, not wanting to wait for this R90S to come in. In '96 Bill tracked down the original owner of the R90S & found that the bike hadn't been ridden or tagged since '83........a deal was made. Bill cleaned the carbs, installed a new battery/gas & tires & it cranked right up. He removed the Hannigan fairing & replaced it with the S-fairing & a progressive fork- spring kit & rear shocks for better handling. He then installed the deep oil pan, a Dyna ll ignition, bar-end mirrors & added the sidecar in '03. At that time he changed the triple trees to Bushong trees, added the bar-back risers & had the motorcycle & sidecar painted to match by his local chevy dealer(BMW friend-owner). Bil installed a piece of diamond plate under the sidecar body(for ballast) & put an automotive battery behind the sidecar's seat(bolted down in a battery box). Bar-end mirrors & a stabilizer have been added & there's a handrail for use when getting in/out of the sidecar. Bill wrote an article on this R90S for the August issue of the BMW ON magazine. I met Bill at a rally near Boone, NC. in '07, where he had ridden the rig along the Blue Ridge Parkway for the weekend rally. I bought the rig in March of '08 with thoughts of getting back on the road following an accident in '05, but it never happened. This motorcycle does run great & has been ridden around the block (once) by a friend. It runs & sounds as good as it looks. The sidecar is a '74 American Easy Rider & I have a title/certificate on it, also. The weight on the sidecar is listed at 125lbs. I'm sure I've forgotten something, so email with any questions & thanks for looking! On Jul-04-10 at 13:58:34 PDT, seller added the following information: There's a plexi-glass shield over the headlight & the right saddlebag carrier has been converted to hold tools, a cooler or whatever. The right turn signal has been wired into the sidecar & the fuses relocated to right side of the dash behind the windshield. The motorcycle has a reynolds folding rack & I have the stock lower triple-tree that goes with the sale. On Jul-04-10 at 21:39:06 PDT, seller added the following information: There's a shock absorber on the sidecar & can be seen in one pic. This was added by the second owner. This is also a matching number (frame/motor) motorcycle. If I can think of anything else, I'll add it as the auction goes along. Email with any questions.
