Odometer: 133,210 VIN# WDBEA66E9RC043612 Transmission: Automatic 4-Speed I feel very fortunate to be in a position to offer this beautiful example of an E320 Cabriolet - a very limited production car - to the eBay community. Many of you know the classic W124 chassis to be one of the most durable and sought after automobiles ever offered by Mercedes Benz. This series of vehicles was produced by Mercedes Benz between 1985 and 1995. All W124s share commonalities such as general appearance, chassis features, and interiors, and yet there were substantial differences in trim, body type, and powerplants. W124s available in the United States ranged from the 260E and 300E early on, to the later E320's starting in 1994. Mercedes Benz model names are easily deciphered: E320 E = E class 320 = 3.2 liter inline six cylinder engine The E320 Cabriolet was introduced in late 1994 as a limited production, virtually hand built car. It was considerably more expensive than its stablemate, the already excellent E320 sedan, its price nearly double that of the four door version. List price in 1994 was over $81,000 and only about 360 were sold that year in the entire United States market. Every Mercedes ever built up to 1994 were great the day they left the factory. These last Cabriolets were crafted when Mercedes Benz had the highest quality ratings in the world. What happens during their life is the variable. Because they are so durable, and virtually bulletproof, many rough examples of these cars are hastily repaired, repainted, and gone over to give the impression of good condition – but typically don't have a provable history or solid evidence of proper maintenance. The rare ones are the preserved originals. Cars so well taken care of that they never need a paint job or new upholstery or an engine rebuild. A car can be rebuilt, but they are only original once. These original, unrestored examples are a testament to the people that have cared for them. Each carries its original steering wheel that the last employee grasped as he drove the cars out of the factory in Germany. Their seats have supported every factory worker, dealer employee, owner and owner's family members since the car was built. The radio is the same one that played music over fifteen years ago. In short, they have history. There were very few E320 Cabrios built in the first place, and even fewer remaining in the hands of fanatical owners, people that rarely drive these cars, garage and cover them properly, and make sure they are kept in absolutely pristine condition. Service the transmission and rear differential and replaced the rear transmission seal. Rebuild the power steering pump.
