Up for Auction is this 1964 Chrysler Newport, with 73,409 original miles. This car is originally from Tennessee and has only minor (repairable) rust spots, small spot on the passenger side rocker panel and couple tiny spots on the trunk lid, barely noticable. We are the 2nd owner's of this vehicle. Stored during winter. Runs great, 361 big block engine with 2 barrel carb. Just had it on the highway today (6/23/10) going 70 miles per hour and it runs smooth. Push button automatic transmission. (just replaced the transmission line and starter). The only mechanical the car needs is a power steering pump (sometimes it works and sometimes it don't) . It has radio delete option, as well as rear window defroster (which is rare). The interior seats are covered. (original seats under cover, not sure of the condition.) The carpet is a little worn, but looks great for being 46 years old. Headliner looks brand new as well as the sun visors. The trunk is amazingly solid as seen in picture with only lit surface rust in spots, that will clean up easily. We purchased the car with imperial hubcaps and have not replaced them. This are is a beauty runs great and turns heads everytime we take it out. Any questions please feel free to email me. Here are the results: Check over the vehicle - found the r/r w/cyl seeping brake fluid. Needs P/S pump. Rear axle pinion seal seeping lube. Exhaust in good shape. Trunk & floor pans in good shape. Tires in fair cond. Needs paint job for a complete polished look, but looks fine the way it is. Has new starter & good radiotator. Has good brake shoes & brake drums & works well. All Fluids up. Good Glass has 2 wiper scrapes on windsheld. All lights in working order and wipers work well. Perform Compression test. Engine has a slight misfire needs plugs points (basic tune-up). Drives well and feels solid.
