Vehicle Detail
This is an original 1931 Model A Tudor Sedan that has had a lot of restoration (motor etc). The speedometer reads 50693 miles and there is an old oil/grease sticker on the door jamb that reads 47981 miles - which I believe, supports the original mileage as shown. Also, the brake and clutch pedals are not worn, like they would be, if the mileage was greatly higher. The frame, front end, and rear end have also been painted. It has absolutely no weld on it.. There are specs of rust on it, but the car, for practical purposes, is rust free. There are no rust holes anywhere on it that I found ( and I looked!!). I have receipts for it totalling $7784.05 for parts and labor - and this total DOES NOT include the original cost of the car!!! Here what has been done on the car: ----motor overhauled ,. distributor rebuilt, Zenith carb rebuilt, generator rebuilt, starter rebuilt (I believe) ---radiator recored (rebuilt) ---5 new tires, and rims painted ---complete upholstery kit from Snyder's, complete new floormats, complete roof kit, new running board mats. ---bumpers - new both front and rear. ---many, many new parts in containers - too many to mention, put perhaps enough to complete the Whole car. But, what needs to be done: is rewire the car - horn, lights etc. A fairly simple less-than one day job. ---most parts came from Snyder's ---ALL OF THESE PARTS ARE IN ADDITION TO A WONDERFUL, LOW MILEAGE CAR TO START WITH. OTHER IMPORTANT COMMENTS: ---it has a clear title ---headlights are very good - no dents, good lenses, reflectors look great ---Stewart Warner original horn --- radiator cover is very nice- no rips, no weld, no dents ---Trico original vacuum wiper ---sheet metal is exceptionally nice for a Model A. The hood has no dents, or cracks, or weld and the louvers are nice. All 4 fenders have no weld, no breaks (especially not the normal crack that comes from the bead to the crown of the fender) but there are a couple of small dents on the fenders, no holes/dents/weld on cowl, no hole/dents/weld on gast tank. no holes/dents/weld on doors, no holes/dents/weld on rest of the body. There is a little, light surface rust in the rear wheel wells. ---glass - all glass is great - no cracks, no "milky white" spots - but I don't know if it is modern safety glass. A nice windshield frame. ---roof - the outside roof has been removed but there is a new one that goes with the car. The roof bows look sturdy. ---interior is not too bad, but there is a new, complete upholstery kit with the car. Interior hardware is missing only one window crank. Interior window moldings are all present. There is even the rear window shade, but you probably won't use it because there is a new shade kit with the car. ---clutch and brake pedals are really nice-as they should be with a low mileage car. ---transmission and rear end. I don't know what has been done with these, but if nothing has been done, with a 50M mile car, they should be ok. ---brakes - I don't know what has been done here, but there is good pedal. This would be a wonderful car to restore as it appears that most of the parts have been purchased and are included with the car, And because of the quality of the sheet metal, this would be a good fit for fine-point judging. But if you didn't want to restore it right away, you could put on a roof and drive it - it is that nice a car. You will be hard pressed to find as nice an original as this - plus most of the restoration money (except for the outside paint job) has already been spent. COMMENT: I SET THE BUY-IT-NOW AT THE AMOUNT THAT HAS BEEN SPENT ON RESTORATIONS AND NEW PARTS. SO, IF YOU USE THE BUY-IT-NOW, YOU WILL BE BUYING THE RESTORED PARTS AND NEW PARTS ---AND, YOU ARE GETTING THE BASIC CAR FOR FREE !!! I will be away from a computer until July 5th and will answer questions after that date. But feel free to ask them, or buy the car, before that date. ---
