1980 El Camino. Low Mileage Corvettet Motor & Trans. This car is a BEAST!!! I entered the mileage on the title, I have no idea what the real mileage is, the dash says 112000 or so. The motor and trans are very fresh. Looks like the rear has been worked on to. The car was not started for almost 2 years. I checked the oil, put cables to it, pumped the gas twice and it fired right up. Its got headers and a full exhaust without cats or mufflers, its LOUD!!! Like a car should be. I dont know how reliable the battery is, it is an Optima, but sat for over 2 years. It is holding a charge, the car firedright up today after sitting all night. The car has not been driven for 2 years so I would not drive it for a long distance with out having it properly checked out first. I can give you the phone number of my buddy that does towing,he is very reasonable. The motor sounds fantastic and the trans shifted smoothly. The body is ok, the doors and front fenders are clean but there is a little rust in the back of the car. The bed is solid , it just has a few surface rust spots. The hood is rusty, but can be sanded, primered and painted. 95% of the rust can be sanded out. The car could use a paint job, or my personal taste would be sanding and primer. The floors and frame look solid. The interior is a little on the rough side. The seat could use a new cover. The headliner is held up with push pins. Whats on there is a faded stained cheap cover, the carpet is dirty and could use a good cleaning or replacement, although its not ripped up. The dash and door panels are in good shape, although as with a lot of these cars the passanger interior door handle is broken off. There are no leaks , the interior is dry. Personally I would just clean it, get a mexican blanket seat cover for it and put a new door handle in. There is a CD player in the dash, but i dont think its connected.
