Vehicle Detail

Mopar 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback Restoration Underway! A lot of work has already been done! If you follow my auctions, you know that I buy whole cars then dismantle them and sell the parts here on EBAY. Ocasionally I get a vehicle that I feel should be auctioned as a restorable piece even though I know that I would make more parting it out. This is one of those cars that I REALLY want to sell whole. (If it doesn't sell, I may have no other choice but to sell parts at Carlisle, so email me and let me know if there's something you may want from the car if that happens.) It is a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback, original copper color,318 column shift automatic with AC and white bucket seat interior. I bought this and another car in a huge package deal from a local millitary family. When I got it, the body was completely disassembled. I bolted the bumpers, doors, fenders etc on with one or two bolts because you will probably want to remove them again. The grille sections and tail lights are just sitting in place. All the glass is in the car except the windshield. I have it and it's included in this auction. The car has the original hubcaps! I also have many of the parts to put it back together. The owner had been meticulously restoring the car and, as you can see from the pictures, doing a very thorough job of it. Also notice there was very little rust to begin with. A great deal of time has been spent stripping it to bare metal and welding in patches in the few spots that needed repair. Unfortunately, the soldier got deployed unexpectedly and the restoration came to a halt. After several months overseas, he and his wife decided to sell the project, the parts car and all of the parts. Any body man can look at the pics and see how much work has already been done. I have great respect for our military, I love classic Mopars, and I cannot in good conscience cut this car up at this stage in the restoration! The floors are overall very good. There is one patch needed under the pedals and a couple of smaller dime sized holes here and there. Otherwise they are very nice. Under the hood is completely rust free. the original engine/trans is still in the car (I'm unsure if it runs). I have all the AC parts with the car. The doors, hood and trunk lid are very good. The trunk floor was repaired with sheet metal. It is done well, but you may want to weld in the replacement trunk pans. The front fenders are solid except for the lower rear area where they rust. The previous owner bought the lower fender repair panels ($150 each). I am including them with the car! The rain gutter trim and door top is still on the car. I have most of the interior trim including the fold down back seats, the bucket seats with tracks and the metal side panels. I also have the dash with the original vin. (the fender tag is also still in the car) Sorry, I do not have a title. Georgia is a "bill of sale" state for cars made before 1986. Underneath the car has been heavily rustproofed. The frame is soft at the very back 3 inches where the support boxes attach to the bumper. The left side will need repair, the right side could probably be wirebrushed and undercoated.: The rest of the rear rails look pretty solid: The fronts look ok, even under the rusted area in the driver's floor: Again, if you are looking for a project that doesn't need a lot of work, this may be for you. Because of the bare metal, it is being stored in a garage. I am offering free delivery to Chryslers at Carlisle OR the Mopar Nationals IF you hit the "BUY IT NOW" and pay in advance. If there are any more questions, please email me or contact my cell at 912-658-2549. Thanks for your interest in my items! HERE ARE THE BIDDING RULES #1.Sorry, I will not take less than the opening bid. I am also not interested in trades. Emails with trade or lowball offers will be ignored. #2. Car is sold “as-is where-is”. There are no warranties expressed or implied. I have made every reasonable effort to accurately describe in detail all of the problems, but I may have missed some. Please ask questions before you bid. If you think you see something in a picture that I have not mentioned, please assume that the picture is correct and that the flaw does exist. #3. You must be at least 18 years of age or older to bid. #3. There will be a $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction close, payable by Paypal.. Vehicle must be removed within 10 days after close of auction unless you opt to have me deliver it to Carlisle or the Nats, in which case you must use the BIN and pay in advance. Other than those options, I cannot ship. Any money still owed will be due in cash at or before the time car is removed from premises. PLEASE do not bid unless you intend to buy.
