1979 Honda CR125R & CR250R Matching Set In Original Unmolested Condition Overview: This is the cleanest set of 79’s I have ever seen. Both un-restored original condition. Even the motors are the factory Honda red coating (Never been spray canned). If you are a collector you may never have another chance to pick up a complete set of 79 CR’s in this condition. The 79 is probably the most significant Honda CR ever made. If you don’t have the 79 CR in your collection you are missing one of the most important pieces of motocross history. Better yet, here is your chance two own the complete set, bought at the same time, from the same dealer, over 30 years ago. Details Usually, I list all the NOS parts on the bike, in this case the bikes are all original, so here is what is not. 1) Tires – they may be original but I am not positive 2) Rear shocks on the CR125R This is not a bike I built to sell; these bikes are out of my collection. Once I acquired them all I did was take them to Honda, have the carburetor cleaned and tuned (reciepts included), took them out riding once, drained the gas and parked them. As you can see from the condition of these bikes the original owner was very meticulous. 1) He used factory touchup paint on the swing arm when it got scratched. 2) Wrote a letter to Honda requesting Maintenance and Service manuals (letter included) 3) Saved all receipts (receipts included) 4) Acquired original microfiche for both bikes (microfiche included) 5) Saved original titles for both bikes (titles included) 6) Laminated all the pages of the factory manuals (manuals included) 7) Put quick disconnects on the fuel lines so the tank could be easily drained after each ride. Since these bikes are 30 year old motocross bikes, in original condition, they are not show perfect. I tried my best to give detailed pictures. Both bikes start on one/two kicks, run great, shift smoothly and have excellent dampening on both ends of the suspension. Conclusion It’s time to raid the kid’s piggy bank and cash in that 401K. This may be your only chance to buy a complete set of 1979 CR’s in this pristine a condition. This is a true investment opportunity. If you like Honda’s and more importantly a fan of MX history don’t let these bikes go to someone else. The pictures do not come close to doing these bikes justice. This set is not cheap, but if you appreciate the rarity and value of two matching 30 year old Honda CR’s in original unmolested condition, good luck in your bidding. Now is your chance to own a piece of motocross history.
