Vehicle Detail
Okay folks here is the story on this car. I bought it from my previous employer, who always had this car serviced at Lithia VW Audi in Reno. I had the idea of giving it to my son for his first car. He never mastered the transmission so I began driving it around town. Car ran great with some minor problems here and there. Brake light would intermittently come on. this I found to be due to a broken sensor in the brake fluid reservoir. It indicated the the brake pads needed to be replaced but I didn't get that far. I had a new headliner installed. The previous owner had parked and got the cowling under the bumper hung and pulled it off. It was replaced with one from an Audi 100 so it has the under bumper fog lamps ( NOT WIRED YET) as well ass the factory lights in the headlamp assembly. Other minor problems include, Original Bose stereo system not working. Pasenger side seat controls work but need the plastic trim piece, Leather beginning to come loose from pasenger door near arm rest, and on drivers side of the center console. I honestly dont know the condition of the seats, it had seat covers when I bought it and I never have bothered to remove them. I assume that the leather is intact but checked due to age. Speedometer works but odometer does not, all other gauges work. Now the really bad part. Something went wrong with the injection system and flooded the combustion chambers with fuel. The mechanic who was working on it didn't realize that the fuel was also going into the oil past the rings. Now the rings are gone and the bearings are dragging. The engine will have to be rebuilt or replaced. So, if you are looking for a project car, or a parts car this could be the one for you. The body is immaculate for a 93. Tires are fair, Tranny is strong and AWD worked great. It also has the ski racks which are not shown in the pictures. This car has no rust and only two very minor scratches, Also has new power steering pump, new (rebuilt rack), new battery, new head liner. AC works great so do the heated seats. On Jun-15-10 at 22:05:57 PDT, seller added the following information:My mistake...miles are in excess of 181000. Odometer not working since I have owned the car. Also its a 20 valve not 24.
