Vehicle Detail
Very good condition inside and out Features: Generation III LS6 engine w/4L65E transmission 2nd Owner Over $25,000 invested......and for you 9C1 fans, this one is a steal!!!! You are bidding on a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice from the Phoenix Police Department in Phoenix, Arizona. The paint and bodywork was completed in April of 2006 by Chris Crookes @ Performance Specialty here in Phoenix. There is only one tiny dent on the right door thanks to a covered awning and mother nature. There is a blemish on the rear bumper (size of a quarter). The car is in overall great to excellent condition considering the age and the fact that it is a used in service police vehicle. Mileage is 136k on the body, only 8k on the engine and 5k on the transmission/converter combo. All of the transmission work was done by GM Proving Grounds in Chandler, Arizona before the Hot Rod Power Tour in May 2009. The following things have been done to this car: ENGINE: -LS6 from 2002 Corvette. Dyno showed 376..68 max power and 385.17 max torque -3.5" 5 pin Mass Air Flow Sensor - Drivetrain: -Edge Racing Pro Edge 3600 stall converter (Edge Racing Converters) -Detroit Trutrac differential w/3.73 rear gears -Hughes aluminum transmission pan with drain plug -5 inch aluminum driveshaft Electrical: -custom wiring harness keeping PCM in stock location for a stock look Other: -New AGR quick ratio steering box -Impala SS rear tail lights -New Front and rear bilsteen shocks -New Front and rear brakes with new rotors and Bendix police spec pads (MKD614AFM) too much to list..... This car is in near perfect mechanical condition. The ABS computer light is on and unknown what the problem is at this time. With the exception of the ABS computer, everything in the car works, spotlight, windows, locks, cold a/c, everything including the light bar and strobe lights on all four corners. This car is tame enough to drive every day, but is quite the sleeper. This vehicle was privately owned used primarily as a display vehicle within a Racing For Education program. The program was designed to educate today's youth about the dangers of driving, street racing, and driving under the influence. Read about it here: http://www.phoenix.gov/police/race.html This engine/tranny combination has made only 3 passes down the 1320 track. In April 2010 I raced this car in Las Vegas with a 25+ mph head wind. My et's were 13.21, 13.20, 13.24 respectively. Considering she weighs 4200 # and had a full tank of gas, that's very respectable. I averaged 18 mpg all day long. It's amazing how LSx engines run!!! Everything that could be powdercoated was and given the fact this is an Arizona car there are no rust issues. When this car was in service it was a Compresses Natural Gas (CNG) car. There was no expense spared in the tasteful modding of this vehicle. Rear N97 rims were widened to 10.5 inches to allow for 295-50-15 street tires. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you. Reserve is lower than the buy it now price. Good luck! On Jun-12-10 at 22:10:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Front and rear seats are from a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI and are the most comfortable seats I've ever had. The rear seat frame is a 9C1/caprice frame as well and not from the Bonneville like others have done. This mod was done right and it fits factory correct. I added the head rest support frame as well as the center console frame to enable a perfect fit. Details of this process were well documented on another website cardomaindotcom. The main picture you see was taken just outside of Chicago in 2009 on the Hot Rod Power Tour during a photo shoot for GM High Tech Magazine. The article on Shamu was never published, but at least it was considered. When I asked the photographer why he picked Shamu he said, "because it's not a Camaro and its the cleanest police car he has ever seen", That was the best compliment I could ask for from a photographer for a magazine. On Jun-14-10 at 12:07:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve price was just lowered! Good Luck!!! 18-20mpg with a two ton Hot Rod....and ETs in the high 12s-low 13s.
