This is a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT 4 cyl. 2.3L BRAND NEW TIRES!!!A/C, 5-speed MANUAL, ABS, AIRBAG, CD PLAYERGREAT AS A WORK TRUCKOR FIRST TIME DRIVER This truck is in great shape for its the mileage and age! MOST OF THE MILES ARE HIGHWAY and I have not done any heavy hauling with it. Ford rangers are known for being dependable, reliable and when needed, simple and cheap to repair. I have owned this truck for over ten years (1/2000) and have hardly had to put any money into it except for maintenance. I did replace the transmission at about 165000 mi. and the starter about 6 months ago, but other than that no other problems. I kept it maintained with oil changes every 3000mi and have done tune ups three times since ive had it. Plugs and wires were done 2 years ago at about 185000 as well as the serpentine belt and air filter, battery was replaced last year. It does have have some dents on either side of the rear end (thanks to some dishonest parking lot neighbors!) and a few more scratches and dings considering the age, only a couple small spots have rust. The windshield has a crack across it (never bothered to replace it) and the carpet and seats are stained a little. It has a small oil leak nothing major I barely have to add much oil at all, tightened up oil filter which helped but still drips occasionally. The other things wrong with it is the gas gage does not work, I havent fixed it, have gotten by, by the mileage. It is time for the brakes to be done, and the exhaust pipe has holes in it that cause some rattle. It has a after market CD player (Pioneer), both the A/C and Heat work fine It has been a great truck and didnt want to sell it except I have a baby and need a car to drive him around.
