Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 1961 190sl and it’s a beautiful car! Chassis 121042-10-021117. Engine 121921-6500258. I have done the best possible job describing this car as well as detailed photos of every part of the vehicle. I am the owner and very familiar with every aspect of it and have represented it honestly. This car is titled as a 1960 but the numbers and Mercedes say otherwise. That frequently happens with these cars. I bought this car from its Florida owner in 2004 off ebay. I paid $32,000.00 then. It has low miles (66,000) and runs well and strong. This car has original everything including carbs. I am including the original carbs but chose to make the change to Weber’s. I believe this is one of the most complete original 190sl cars for sale today. Missing nothing. It has both the canvass top, (good shape with no tears and clear rear plastic) and the hard top. The car comes a rolling car top garage holder as well I purchased for it. It comes with manuals and club books for restoration as well as the much sought after Mercedes 190 shop manual which sells for $300 plus on ebay (when you can fine one)! There are some extra parts like a windshield rubber seal and window rubber seals which I paid $300+ for but have not installed yet but are included. From what I have seen here on Ebay there are two main types of 190sl cars for sale. Complete “barn finds” that don’t run and are rusted out for $25k or Concours restored for $75+ to $100k. This is definitely between. It is not junk as you can see, but its not finished restoration. But it is mechanically sound and beautiful and much less than the $100k car. I have used only real Mercedes parts in this car! Now the brakes are all in perfect working order and this car now drives and handles well. I would have to say mechanically I was done with that part of the restoration. To finish it needs carpet, upholstery, chrome and paint make it “restored” condition. It also needs some work under the car on the floor pans and one rust spot. Kkmfg.com suppliers sells all the floor pans and rail parts for replacement too. One trailing arm has a rust spot. Pans are sound, need sanding, rust proofing and painting. There was some work done repairing the floors and undercarriage repairing the limited rust that this car had. All 190sl‘s have floor rust until repaired. If those things were done I would be selling for $70,000. It absolutely can be driven with safety and reliability. It does turn heads. I don’t have time and just bought a boat instead of this hobby. I have since my purchase spent $10,000 in parts and labor replacing the following (so you won’t have to). All receipts included. I purchased from SL Autohaus, Millers, K&K, and other reputable suppliers of correct original parts! All new brake everything (hoses, lines, new wheel cylinders (all 6), shoes, ground drums, and new rebuilt brake booster.) New Weber 40 dcoe carbs, original solex’s are included if you wish to rebuild, new spark plugs, new choke cable, both new fuel lines, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new cork gasket, new fuel hoses, new master brake cylinder, new oil filter, new oil filter gaskets, new center horn button, new ivory horn, new blinker relay, new ignition cables, I have all new Mercedes correct banding rolls of clamps and including clamps, I chose not to use, but it is included, new manifold gasket, new air filter snout replaced, new shift lever Teflon bushings, new tie rods, new beauty rings and new hub caps. As you can see more work can be done. Mechanically now the only thing today that does not work is the windshield wipers (motor works and arms are intact, under the dash there is a arm that was lost that can be purchased and installed). Restore this car or enjoy the car the way it is! It’s beautiful! Any questions email me. I will not discount this car or sell off Ebay so please don’t ask. Thanks! You can have the car shipped or pick it up in Navarre, FL. 32566. Payment is Paypal deposit and Bank Wire Transfer Only on balance. Thanks and Good Luck Bidding!
