Vehicle Detail

For Sale is a 1992 Honda Civic CX. I bought this car from the original owner in the Spring of 2003 with a trashed head on it. It had 142,000 miles on it. When I purchased it I replaced the 8 valve head with a 16 valve head and drove it about a year and put 20,000 miles on it that year. I then decided I wanted to build a track car that Summer and that this unmolested canvas was the perfect project. So Aug/Sept of 2004 I completely stripped the car down to the chassis. Keep in mind that I bought this from the original owner, it has never been wrecked and came from Southern California. No need to do any body work at all. So I dropped the full suspension/brakes, exhaust, engine/transmission. I then bought a JDM B16A full engine swap from a 1995 JDM Honda Civic. Then I went to my local junkyard and pulled the brakes/steering knuckles/trailing arms from a wrecked 1994 Acura Integra. As well as the seats, gauge cluster and many other interior parts from newer/higher trim levels of Civics. The entire month of September that year I was busy sourcing and purchasing parts for my build...and the list goes... 1995 JDM B16A engine, I replaced the head gasket when I bought the engine. I have replaced the timing belt and water pump twice now. I also bought the CNC aluminum cam seal that always leaks on these. I never got around to installing it. I bolted an 8 pound steel machined flywheel to the crank. It revs very fast. I also put the under drive crank pulley on it. I purchased all the correct and new torque/engine mounts from Honda. Yes the A/C is hooked up correct and it blows cold. The transmission is also from a 1995 JDM Honda Civic. The only thing I did to that before putting it in my car was changed the gear lube. The drive axles I replaced all the boots and repacked them with fresh grease. I think I still have some extra boots laying around. I did all the basic stuff when you put a new engine in a car. I put a cold air kit in with it. A full Magnaflow exhaust. I also upgraded the ignition system. It had a MSD SCI-L box with a blaster coil and NGK wires. It now only has the aftermarket coil and wires. A Field VTEC/air/fuel controller. When I swapped in the brake/suspension from the 1994 Integra it was pretty straight forward. Out with the old in with the new. I replace any ball joints, bearings or worn brake parts that needed attention. The fronts received an Ingalls camber kit and Tokico Illumina struts. The rear was treated pretty much the same. Replace all worn parts and bolt on the Tokico Illumina struts. I also upgraded the rear brake lines to stainless lines. The interior was a no brainer. What is the least expensive mod one can do? Weight reduction. I removed the back seat, trunk area carpet and many other things to lighten the car. Remember my intention on building this car was for it to be a track car. Don't expect to jump in it and run 14 at Bandimere, it won't. It was built to go 0-60 and back down to zero. Now after living in Denver and using the car for whatever I needed it for, five years later it looks nothing like the show car it was. Front and rear bumpers are severely scratched. Probably from parking all around Capitol Hill. I had a Yakima roof rack on it for about two years. Inevitably dings and scratches come with that. The passenger rear quarter got a beat one day during a snow drift. I built the car with the intention of beating it in Auto-X. That is what I have done and it hasn't left me stranded once. I just spent days at the car was vacuuming the interior. The carpet has normal stains as well as wear and tear. I just put some almost new Hankook 195/55/15 winter tires and new universal 15" wheels on it. I also replaced the front wheel bearings. I think the alignment might need to be done it slightly pulls to the left. This past fall I replace all the coolant hoses and put a new battery in her. So all the expensive stuff has been done to this thing it just needs some TLC and the hood and bumpers painted and the paint buffed here and there. Email me some insight and any questions especially if your feed back is less than 5. I like to give all buyers an opportunity to win. I live downtown and the car is stored in NW Denver. It runs and drives very well but the tags have since expired last fall. Thanks for reading and good luck. On Jun-14-10 at 06:30:40 PDT, seller added the following information:
