Vehicle Detail
This Ranchero was built to go fast. It was not intended for looks. It only weighs 2,450 lbs., and is 400 HP. On a hard launch, I have had the front wheels off the ground. The parts will also interchange with many other early Fords, so if you are looking for a donor car, this is a good find. The engine has around 40,000 miles on it. The heads and valvetrain have less than 2,000 miles. The engine combo works extremely well. It revs faster than the old Chevy 302s. Being this light, with this much power, gear, and stall, you will be amazed how quickly this car takes off. I have had a few fast hotrods and none of them are anything like this. It is not the easiest conversion to stuff a 5.0L, C4, and 8" into a Falcon Ranchero with 1 5/8" headers. But with this car it is already done. Some things that can be improved; The body needs a lot of work. The windshield has a crack. The floor pan and other sheetmetal have some rust. The floorpan was repaired with a fiberglass patch kit. The wheelwells have been cut to accomodate the 275/60/R15 wheels. The drivers side front hood hing broke at the pivot, but would be an easy weld repair, and/or replacement. The hood still opens and closes, you just have to be carefull and not just slam it closed. The front grill is actually from a '63 Ranchero/Falcon only because I have always liked that style better. Again, this car was meant for hard launches and quick 1/4 times, not looks or show. Please expect some body work if you want it to be nice. The high dollar stuff is already included. What is needed now is more labor than $$$. I was happy having it where it is at. It would turn heads bigtime rolling into the local hotrod hangouts. It is faster than most cars on the road, definitely a sleeper.
