Vehicle Detail
70 Plymouth Satellite originally had a 383 4 barrel. Now has a 1978 440 4 barrel out of a truck in it. Brakes are shot and has the b body rust problems throughout. Trunk, rear quarter panels, driver's side floor board and rear glass area has rust. All trim and glass is present and in good shape. New brake lines, hardware and hydraulics are in the car. I bought new hydraulic parts for the brakes in anticipation of fixing it up but have run into a brick wall of time. Starter no longer cranks the engine over as it has sat for a couple years. Engine will turn over and start once it gets a good starter. I also have a 383 original 4 barrel intake and Holley carburetor, as well as an electroinc ignition conversion that will be included in the sale. Have most of the original paperwork showing what has been done to the car in the past.On Jun-11-10 at 07:53:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Several people have asked about the extent of the rust on the car. The major rust is concentrated towards the rear of the car as stated in the original listing. The trunk is rusted out with a little remaining around the edges of the trunk area. There is a piece of sheet metal back there to serve as a trunk. The battery is located there also as the battery mount up front rusted/corroded away before I got the car. The rear quarter panels have plastic filler on them from prior repairs done before I purchased the car. The rear glass area leaks through to the trunk. There are holes in the driver's side floor board as noted in the original listing and pictures. The floor pan is rusted, but the only spots I can see where it is gone through is the driver's side front. The front crossmember and torsion bar supports are intact and little to no rust there. This vehicle has sat at my house for almost 5 years, with me doing various repairs off and on for the first 3 years with it being parked out back for the last 2 years. I hope this provides enough information so that those that want to make something of this car can do so. Thanks for looking and good luck. On Jun-12-10 at 13:49:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Some people have asked what rear end it has in it. I think it is a Chrysler 8.25 with a 3.91 gear ratio. The car will also come with a partial copy of the service manual. I only copied the Intro and general specs, lubrication, rear axle, brakes, electrical, wiring diagrams, automatic transmission, engine specs and air conditioning. On Jun-12-10 at 13:53:13 PDT, seller added the following information: One more thing: I do not have the old 383 engine for it. It was replaced long ago (before I got the car) with the truck 440 I mentioned in the first listing. I did purchase a 383 intake and holley carb for it that will be included in this auction.
