Vehicle Detail

Had spare tire and wheel on back but comes with matching tire and rim, which is now on it. This is a rust free 1971 VW Super Beetle. I bought it from the previous owner as a stepfather/son project a year ago that has gone too long. The Bug sat for about 13 years with the previous owner and I have done a LOT of work with it and put a lot of money into it. There is a recent paint job on it but wrong primer was used and there is some chipping. It is a brown/maroon color. It has: Wiring from front to under rear seat replaced Replaced all dash switches Replaced fuse box and new fuses Replaced door and rear quarter panels Empi trigger shifter (Hurst style and I will include stock shifter) New brake pads, new wheel cylinders and hardware Replaced master cylinder New brake hoses New front seats New rear seat covers New headliner Grant GT wooden steering wheel (will include original steering wheel) New Bosch starter Four American Eagle EMPI style 8 spoke wheels (will include original VW wheels) Replaced all four fenders and hood Strong 1600 Dual Port engine with replaced heads New generator pulley Strong stock transmission with new gear oil Replaced the speedometer with a 100 MPH speedometer from a later Bug New speedometer cable New accelerator cable New clutch cable I am finishing this up and we need to sell it. I drove it around the block a few weeks ago (before replacing the heads) and the transmission shifts like butter. It feels solid. I replaced all the brake pieces, except for 2 hoses (which I am including), but the brakes feel mushy. As noted, the PO had this sit for 13 years or so and most of the original wiring was eaten by mice. I replaced most of the wiring (everything from the front to the voltage regulator under the back seat) but there might be a short or drain somewhere. I installed a switch on the dash to switch power on and off to the key. I am also including spare parts, such as extra headlights, taillights, etc. Please note: THIS IS BEING SOLD AS A PROJECT! IT STILL NEEDS SOME WORK! Just about any VW Airhead can get it finished. This was to be for my stepson but he elected to get a Honda, so I have to let this Bug go. As he needs to pay us for the purchase of the Honda. The car is on non-op and registered through California DMV. PLEASE NO TIME WASTERS!!! This car is for sale locally so I will pull this listing if it sells off of ebay. Act fast! There are a lot of pictures. Please let them load. I took some pictures of the pans before I put carpet back over them. They are virtually free of rust. Also there is a picture from under the car. This car is on non-op through California DMV. I would strongly suggest the buyer has it towed home. There are some electrical issues (the turn signals and brake lights are not working and the battery drains). I am sure it is a wire issue. Probably hooked up to wrong fuse or something. I do not know any shipping companies but I will work with you on getting this shipped. As in you find the shipping and arrange for it and I will do my part on this end. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
