**********NO RESERVE********* Hello and up for auction is a very special BMW indeed, my 1991 318is with very good miles and no accidents. This car only changed hands once before it made it to me and both owners were female and kept the car for a number of years. I bought the car from a college friends wife and from day one I had a very organized and well blueprinted plan for this car. First I want to say I wish BMW still made cars like this that engage the driver from the moment the car starts. Hopefully once you have read what has been modified using all original BMW parts you will understand that this is not another 91 318is dropped on wheels it is much more than that. Several calls were made to the likes of J.P. Cadoux at A1imports in Marin, Ca. Jeff Ireland at Ireland engineering sports, and Paul McHenry which to my knowledge was the first to swap a s14 e30 m3 motor into a 2002tii. My point is that I talked and planned this build with some VERY knowledgeable BMW gurus to get a great result that I know the next owner will love. First Mechanical Repairs and Conversions: The first thing that was done was a new BMW fuel pump and all new Bilstien Shocks and Struts with a very nice 1.8" drop across the car. Next I did a full tune up and flush of the engine and replaced all filters with BMW filters except the air intake I went with a K&N in the factory housing because every tuner I talked to agreed that the cone filter made no noticeable power. Moving on to the next item that needed to be replaced as I tweeked the suspension were the Tie- rods. Making the car bone dry was the next thing and all faulty worn gaskets were replaced with BMW gaskets. The Valve cover, lower oil pan and also the timing case gaskets were among the gaskets changed and timing chain inspected and in great condition.. Conversions: Consist of the M20 flywheel conversion and also The super rare 4.27 lsd diff conversion. This is the best thing you can do to get a VERY noticeable difference in the low RPMS of the car where it really suffers 1st and 2nd gear. If you have ever driven a e30 318is then you know it lives in the high rpm range and you hear people say the only way to drive a 4 cylinder 318is is like you stole it.. the flywheel on the m42 is 30 pds and the flywheel on the m20 is half the weight at 16pds. Price wise it is not cheap and the parts needed are a m20 flywheel m20 starter and also it has to be paired with a new m20 clutch setup and also the very hard to find 323i throw-out bearing. Once all the parts are paired with one another the difference is very noticeable in the low gears and the car really responds very quickly. Next was swapping my 4.10 lsd diff for the 4.27 diff which is geared lower and was a very hard to find diff that only came on 91-92 e30 Conv. with LSD can you say needle in a hay stack. I found one that was in excellent condition almost new looking and sprang for it.. Now the car halls butt in 1st and 2nd and is a whole different DRIVING machine.. Lastly I knew I needed to source a great chip and exhaust to really let the car breath and perform and I searched and searched and it seemed that the word on all the BMW forums were that the best chip made for the e30 was by far the Mark Dysilvia chip out of Canada. I will have to say once I paired the conversions with the Dynomax free flow exhaust with custom 3"DTM TIP and The Mark D. chip I new the tuning was complete. Mark D chips are making 17-20 hp gains and also 19 pd torque on the Dyno. The result is a 318is that still has the same nimble light body but performs more like a 325is...and sounds very nice not loud at all but very tuned and exotic..and that is why I picked the Dynomax, VERY relaxed but sporty sound. I have never had anyone turn around to see what the hell that noise is if you get my drift even when accelerating hard. Body and Trim: I have had the car resprayed red in the BMW M Imola Red and it really makes the car look amazing. Before the car was resprayed the one small area of rust on the rear bumper support about the size of a fist was cut out and new metal was welded in. If you know body repair this is the correct procedure. Also keep in mind that this was the bumper support not the outer body that was and is in amazing shape!! Every yes every piece of trim was removed and replaced with new BMW trim including the headlight grilles and the front kidney grille. The Paint is very nice and was wet sanded and polished to a high gloss that shows like a new car! The paint shop I chose did custom work for BMW when I was employed with them and they always do excellent work.. Interior: The interior is in good shape and will need very little to be almost perfect. The front seats are in really nice condition but the drivers side has a tear about 3-4 inches long that is its own piece of material that can be replaced and also the dash does have 2 cracks in it.. The back seat and the passenger seat are in excellent condition as is the headliner and carpet..the side paneling front to back is also in excellent condition and it will not take much to make the interior perfect!! Rims and Tires: The tires are the TOYO T1RS in a 205/50/16 and they are near new with about 1900 miles on them max and the rims are the 16" BBS replicas with the BMW center Cap for a very nice BMW FACTORY look.. Rims and tires have no scuffs or marks on them all 4 tires and rims are perfect.. Hopefully this car will make it to a new loving home that realizes that this is a true gem of a already destined classic that turns heads everywhere and I usually can't take her out without someone asking me what year it is? and if its fast? and my favorite is were is the time machine at? LOL. Please read my feedback everyone that has bought a BMW from me says the same thing that the description was right on and that they got a great BMW! Every part that is listed in the repairs and conversion has a receipt to go with it. The parts including trim and conversion labor etc total 7k not including Paint(4-5K QUALITY JOB) or the original purchase price.... Forgot to mention car has new battery and Z3M weighted shifter...I added a few different pics of the car and my favorites are the outside pictures with the hood propped up and along the sides showing that the car is super straight.. Great care went into the body to make it amazing... This photo really shows the quality of the paint being wet sanded and polished to a high gloss. Good LUCK!! **Some very important updates have been done since the last time I listed and the most important is that the A/C IS FULLY CHARGED AND OPERATIONAL AND BLOWS VERY COLD NOW!!! ALSO THE BLOWER FAN RESISTOR AND A/C FAN RESISTOR HAVE JUST BEEN CHANGED!!! ** ALSO BRAND NEW BOSCH o2 SENSOR WAS ADDED LAST WEEK AND NEW RAIN X WIPER BLADES AND YES I HAVE RECORDS !!! YOUR WELCOME JUST CALL ME SANTA CLAUS!!! **ONE OF THE LAST THINGS LEFT TO FIX IS THE CLUSTER, I HAVE JUST GOTTEN ANOTHER BAD CLUSTER AND WOULD SUGGEST GETTING THE ONE CURRENTLY REBUILT OR REPAIRED AS I HAVE ALREADY GOT 2 BAD ONES FROM PARTS SUPPLIERS AND THESE CAN BE VERY HARD TO FIND IN GOOD CONDITION SO I SUGGEST SENDING IT OUT TO HAVE IT REBUILT THEN YOU KNOW IT WILL LAST !! Lastly if you are like me and follow classic or special interest cars then you have probably seen this listed on ebay a few times and I want to apologize to the real bidders that truly want this gem. I have reported false bidders and such forth to ebay and they have blocked certain parties from bidding on my items so hopefully this time the car will attract the perfect next owner!
