Vehicle Detail

This low-miles 2002 R 1150 RT is in great condition, with no reserve price, selling to highest bidder. Just weeks ago (in May) it had the major 24,000 mi. dealer service at Sarasota BMW dealer (Hap's), although it only has 22,700 mi. on it. Ridden less than 100 mi. since. It got a new battery at the same time. I also had them check for anything they thought needed attention, but they found nothing. If you're looking at this bike, then you are probably already knowledgeable about its features and know exactly what you want in your machine. Most notably, this is the first model with the incredible integrated front-and-back ABS brakes. Factory black saddlebags (hard-plastic-shell trunks actually) are included, with added dividers (see photo). Includes factory radio / cassette player (see photo), much in add-on electronics (put in by original owner) -- it's wired and equipped for Sirius satellite, but does not come with the actual satellite receiver, you would get that yourself (see mount on tank in photo). Includes same-color (silver) full-face Schuberth helmet (size "59 / L / 7 3/8"), with jacks and wired for integration with electronics / sound devices, shelf above dash for additional electronic component (see photo) such as radar detector, GPS, etc. Heated grips (seat is OEM, not heated). Paint is like new. It has never been wrecked or dumped, but has fallen over, both ways. As I pulled it just off the road shoulder, it was in a soft sandy spot, and as the wheels shifted and sank, I couldn't hold it and it went over to the left. The faring just below and forward of the shifter scraped against the asphalt shoulder, which was several inches higher than the tires by that time. Photos show the scrape to the valve cover and faring and superficial damage to the plastic, though function is unaffected and this is practically unnoticeable without close examination from below. It takes getting near ground level and looking upward to see. And the fall to the right -- was by the BMW dealer, of all things. I was picking it up, and as they were wheeling it out the guy lost it right in front of me. Marred the right valve cover and put a scrape on the edge of the right mirror housing, see photos (worked out a service credit with the dealer, for what it's worth). There were also 2 tiny paint chips, touched up with OEM paint, on an "edge" or break in the natural contour on the right side of the tank, see photo. The saddlebags have ordinary wear but no damage, nothing remarkable. The paint is rich and gleams like new. Bike has always been garaged and covered. The seat has virtually no wear and is in nearly-new condition, shiny, supple black vinyl . Because the orig. owner had a custom heated seat, and so did I until a month ago, this seat just sat on a shelf until recently. Tires: Metzelers, with plenty of rubber -- can't guess how much in % terms, and don't know how many miles are on them as they were there when I bought it, but if I were going on a trip, of any distance, I would just go and not worry about tires. How it runs: Perfectly -- like new -- no issues. Of course, that means incredible power and torque, and silky smooth. A really attractive, beautiful machine. First owner was an "Iron Butt Association" type in Georgia, a state trial court (or administrative, not sure which) judge. He meticulously cared for it. I'm the second owner, and took title last fall. Call me at 941.544.5595. 2002 BMW R 1150 RT, SILVER, NO RESERVE PRICE.
