This turbocharged Jetta is in near-perfect condition with a clean, accident-free carfax; it boasts sophisticated German engineering and styling; and it sports a quiet diesel that has a purrrr that will put a smile on your face...and it will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of price, without reserve. Overall, this is an immaculate vehicle that looks great; has a clean, accident-free carfax; and is loaded with every available comfort and performance feature that VW offers. Since I don't give 10's, I would rate it an easy overall 9 out of 10. Let’s get to the details: Mechanical: We have just serviced this vehicle including full computer diagnostics. Mechanically, it is sound and absolutely reliable with low mileage on its long-lasting diesel motor. Clean (recently changed) fluids. Clean motor. No leaks. All electronics function properly. Cruise control sets and holds its speed as it should. Stereo/CD functions as it should (and sounds great, too!). Stereo functionality from steering wheel works as it should. Air conditioning works as it should. Power sunroof and mirrors function as they should. Diesel motor purrs like a kitten. Interior: I don’t give 10's, but if I did this one would get it. Carpet is near perfect. Leather seats are near perfect. Dash appears new as it shows no fading or cracking. The interior and leather even smells new. I’ll rate the interior an easy 9 out of 10. Driving: The turbocharged engine is very peppy and really fun to drive. Compared to most domestics this size, the ride is noticeably solid, responsive and quiet and the seating is comfortable. In fact, even with the sunroof open the drive is comparatively quiet...I'm not sure how they engineered that. However, this is a diesel engine and its automatic transmission does shift between gears noticeably harder than most gas cars. So expect harder shifting. However, we have had the transmission checked (thoroughly) and it has absolutely no transmission codes that appear during computer diagnostics or service lights on the dash. Exact fuel economy was not tracked, but I will say that I have no doubt that this car is capable of the 45+ mpg that the manufacturer claims and that other third-party sources have verified. In summary, it's fun to drive, comfortable, and peppy, but has choppy shifting, so I'd rate its driving a 7 or 8. But, that's a pretty small price to pay for unbelievable fuel mileage and a turbo diesel engine that will probably last you forever and that will never need a tune-up. Handling: The vehicle’s tight handling is what you would expect from a German-engineered vehicle. It drives tight and straight. At highway speeds, it has extremely minimal vibration that is comparable to that of a brand new Jetta. The steering is tight with little, if any, play in the wheel. The vehicle handles as new and I’ll give its handling an easy 9 of 10. Tires: Newer tires with 80-90% tread. No uneven wear. No plugs that I could see. The tires are a 9 out of 10 by even the harshest standards. Exterior appearance: I tell people to expect minor chips or scratches on every vehicle that I sell. That said, however, you’ll have to try hard to find them on this vehicle. The paint is very glossy and reflective. There are no damaged or loose trim pieces or panels. This vehicle shows as very nearly new and would reasonably rate a 9 by anyone.
