I owned this TDI for a year. About 2 months ago the injection pump went out and I converted it to a M-TDI. Ran good with this pump. About a month ago I was driving and the car started running rough. I popped the hood and the crank case vent tube was cracked and blowing oil, also the motor was running rough like it had a dead cylinder. When I tried to drive the car home I had an Oil Runaway (This is when oil is pulled through the turbo and the motor runs on the oil even when the key is turned off and the diesel fuel is cut off). I put the car in 5th gear and held the brakes until the oil cleared. I got it home and checked to make sure all injectors were getting fuel and they were. When i cracked the line to the #2 cylinder while running the idle of the engine did not change. When I cracked the lines to all the other injectors the motor ran rougher. This tells me the problem is with the #2 cylinder. I pulled the valve cover and the cam lobes and the lifters look fine. I started a thread on TDI Forum and I was told it sounds like a bent rod. I don't know for sure. The car is in good shape otherwise. Has new brakes. Interior has a few burn holes. Has new AC compressor but I could not get it to take refrigerant for some reason. I did the timing belt the same time I did the injection pump. Only notable dent is on the hood above the driver's side headlight. Has a good Kenwood CD player with the Auxillary port for an iPod. The car is a southern car. CarFax said it was purchased in Mass but spent most of its life in GA and SC. No rust. Please ask any questions you have. I'll answer any questions best I can.
