You are bidding on a: 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Body: Ok condition. A few dings. Nothing major. Some rust. A few spots are bubbled. Everything is pictured. Some spots on the rain channel on the top of the car. Some places have been wire brushed and primed to prevent the spread. I would not consider the amount of rust major. Someone with a grinder, bondo and some paint could fix it all pretty easily. The floor pans have surface rust that can be wire brushed, they are NOT rusted out. The previous owner cut out in the back to access the starter or something. I am not really sure. Motor and Transmission: Runs rough. It needs a carb cleaning. It has been sitting for a little while. I did add STA-BIL to the fuel to help preserve it. The alternator quit on my while I was driving so I parked it in the yard and have not done anything since. The alternator still needs to be replaced. Tranny works fine. I installed an empi short shifter with a reverse lockout. Wheels/Brakes: Wheels are empi 10 spoke. Good Year tires are like new. The brakes have been converted over to disc. The people who did it cut the emergency brake out and the heater controls. Interior: Needs attention. Seats are pretty good. I removed the sun cracked dash pad, old carpet and it needs new door panel clips. Overall: The car has great potential. The body work is not major, The engine and transmission are good. It is a great starting point on a Bug project. Parts are cheap and it will not take much to get it on the street. I hate to give the car up but I have taken on more projects than I can handle. Its time for me to cut what I do not need. Electrical: I mostly installed a new wiring harness. I did not complete it because I wanted to put in some new switches and just never got to it.
