Vehicle Detail

1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 4-Door sedan, V8, Powerglide automatic transmission, two-toned white and blue original paint. ONLY 11,688 original miles! Still has original U-S Royal tires. Spare was used on left rear, but original tire and rim are in the trunk. Last registered in 1970-71 in Maryland. Purchased new from Ashley Chevrolet, now Fox Chevrolet. Have the original title. The master cylinder and wheel cylinders were done when the car was pulled out of a 30-year storage a couple of years ago. Car starts and runs and will be able to be put onto a trailer for shipping. Engine sounds good, and is quiet running. Transmission shifted normally when driven a short distance near local storage. Upon inspection I don't see any areas where paintwork was ever done. Paint has some areas of small blisters and an area on the trunk lid where some kind of tarp damaged the paint during its long storage during the 70's / 80's and 90's. The chrome too is original, and needs to be polished. I started to polish the front bumper, and its coming out real nicely. You can see, front left. Other areas do having pitting but also can come up shiny with a lot of elbow work. Stainless looks real nice and with polish can be used nicely. Interior is also original. Front seat has, what appears to be, original plastic cover on the bottom. The interior needs to be cleaned, but its in excellent condition. Very little has to be done inside. Has original padded dash, and option that is not commonly found on many 1956 Chevy cars. The drivers visor is faded, the passenger visor is fine, and one section of blue fabric is faded between the passenger door and rear door. Carpet is alright, just needs to be cleaned from what I can see. Headliner doesn't have and holes, tears or any indications of mice getting up in there. Except for some surface rust, there is no rust or rust repair. Car was undercoated, probably when new. Gas tank needs to be cleaned and I bought a new sending unit. I also have a set of shop manuals that I bought for the car. I have not registered or driven the car on the highway since I bought it two years ago (2008). Car sold as is, where is. Buyer is responsible for all shipping from here to where ever they need it to go. Buyer pays $100 Pay Pal deposit 48 hours from auctions close. Balance in the form of certified bank check or wire transfer. Car and title will not be released until payment clears. Don't expect to come and pay with a check the day you want to take the car away. Don't bid and win the car and then come out just to look. You are more than welcome to come and inspect while the auction is in progress. Any questions, please contact me. Reserve is very close to buy it now price. That is what I have invested in the car, To sell it, that is what I need. If you have 10 or less positive feedback points, please e-mail me with you intentions about purchasing the Chevy. Make sure you check with your partner, girlfriend, boyfriend, just a friend or anyone else before you bid. Because your bid and winning purchase is a legal binding contract.
