This 1984 Biarritz Convertible, one of 3300 produced that year, is amongst one of the final vehicles to be finished by hand under the GM Flagship Cadillac line. Prior to 1985, Cadillac outsourced it's finest, most luxurious cars to professional coach companies to see that every step in the conversion process, from coupe to convertible, was done with the upmost detail and care. This 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible is significant as a collectors piece for it symbolizes a changing of flags in the production of American luxury automobiles. This Biarritz Convertible is finished in Dark Crimson Maple, a deep maroon, with a classic styling on the white leather seats, dark red interior and wood accents. The 4.1L V8 has 94,570 miles and runs great. I drove this vehicle from Southern Texas to Springfield, MO only 4 months ago and previous to that, it was driven from St. Louis to Southern Texas.
The exterior of the car does require some attention, which I have taken the liberty to show the details in the pictures. The rubber filler panels that bridge the space between the bumpers and the body are rubber. Over time these rubber pieces have dried out and cracked. Additionally, there are a few minor emblem pieces that have fallen off. The paint doesn't need to be reshot, but if you want this vehicle restored to it's former glory then it could use it. The body of this vehicle is very STRAIGHT and has no apparent previous body work. With the exception of the BRAND NEW convertible top, the car appears to be all original. Tires are good with about 75% - 80% tread life left.
The interior of this vehicle is excellent shape for a vehicle of its age. Aside from one spot where a thread has come loose on the driver seat, the seats are free of any tears and show virtually no wear at all. The floors, carpets, door panels, seat belts, seats and even the factory dark red factory Tonneau cover are all in fantastic shape. The interior switches and handles are all in good shape. The passenger rear window switch on the driver door is missing the lever part of the switch, but still functions with no issues. All electronic switches including the A/C and radio work without issue in the car. The digital gauges all function and display as they should. The dash of the car has one slim split, which you can see in the photos, running from a vent to the front of the dash nearly in the middle.
