Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a 65 1965 Mercedes Benz 190. I bought this car to use as a parts car for another project. I found the car to be in too good shape to tear up so I am offering it for sale as it was when I got it. To start, the body is excellent. It is as straight as an arrow. The guy that sold me the car painted it over the original paint that he claims wasn’t bad. All panels fit and align great. The doors are a little hard to open because the car has been sitting for a long time. The bumpers are all in great condition as is all glass. The original interior is all in place but does have rips and tears from the heat as you can see in the pictures. The car had a Mark IV air conditioner which comes with the car. The compressor, condenser, and under dash unit are in the trunk and it still has the decal in the back widow. I have the gas filler door/ rear license plate holder. The original spare tire and original jack are in the trunk. The car came with a bunch of original literature in the glove box. Included is the owners manual, owners service policy (with metal plates stamped with the cars information) , what looks like a factory copy of the build sheet, the service booklet (with little stamps that would be torn out at different service intervals) , a factory parts catalog that has exploded views of EVERY single piece of the car (down to nuts and bolts, its incredible!), an instruction booklet for the Mark IV air conditioner, a Mercedes maintenance products booklet, a little bottle of paint that says “touch up paint for Mercedes” and has the paint code. I don’t think it was used. And the vinyl bag with Mercedes logo to hold all of the manuals. There is also an original tool kit in a canvas bag that has wrenches, a spark plug socket, and part of a screwdriver all with Mercedes Benz written on it. Oh, and some ceramic fuses, not like the plastic ones from the auto parts store. There is also the radio delete plate with the 190 script on it. I have two front original rims and hubcaps. Here is the bad news. The man I bought the car from wanted to do a “resto mod” with the car. He took out the engine, transmission, and rear end and put in a V6 from a Chevy or Buick, I don’t remember which along with the automatic transmission and rear end. That’s why you see those wheels on the back. I have never started it but he said it runs. The work he did was pretty poorly done as far as his welding and fabricating. The original mounts are all there so I would imagine it would be possible to put all of that back in if you want. Nothing has been extensively modified or altered to the point that it can’t be put back. The original air cleaner also comes with car, I don’t know why he left that. He said he scrapped the stuff he took out. The car still has the original radiator but with an electric fan installed. Regardless of what happened to the original drive train, this is still a VERY good car to restore, or maybe continue what this man started, just finish it the right way. Other than that it was a completely original untouched car. The car is even sold with its ORIGINAL TITLE, yes that’s right, you will be the second registered owner of this car. I just couldn’t use this car as a parts car given the remarkable original condition and documentation. I bought this car to use as a parts car for the other Mercedes I currently have for auction. Please see it as well. I would like to finish up the whole transaction within a reasonable time as I don’t want to have the cars sitting here much longer. I’ll take a $500 deposit at the end of the auction with the rest due before or when you pick up the car. Ill take a paypal payment or cash but the car doesn’t leave until I have the full bid amount cleared. I think that is fair for both of us. The buyer must arrange for pick up and I’ll help however I can. Please feel free to ask questions and I will be happy to answer them as fast as I can. If you would like to see pictures of something specific let me know Or if you would like to see the car in person we can arrange that as well.
