Vehicle Detail
I am selling my loved rare and precious 1991 900 turbo SE Platana Gray. Only 362 were imported to the US. This isThe most lusted after SAAB Convertible ever made, the 1991 SE or "Special Edition". Learn More about the most desired SAAB 900 convertible here. http://jpowell.tripod.com/saab-900cv/This is a dream car for many SAAB enthusiasts. These are Indeed the most thought after classic convertibles from SAAB. I Purchased this beauty from a dealer in New York about 5 years ago with the intentions of keeping the car for life. I then started doing a full restoration job on everything in the car. I also did some of the most Known and recommended upgrades to enhance the power and the handling of the car. My Goal was to bring the car to near showroom conditions while upgrading the performance and handling to maximize the joy of driving this beauty. Over $20k spent in new and rare parts not including the 100's of hours of labor put into the car. The body recently has been freshly restored and painted by one of the best body shops in NYC, they did an amazing Job after having the car for over 6month. The paint job totaled about 5k. The car now has approx 9K miles that represent the rebuild miles. A new 140 mph European Spec Speedo gauge was installed at the begining stage of the rebuild to document the new life the car has been given. The car originally had 196k miles before the restoration process started. It took me about 5 years to finish the job exactly the way it should be done. I am a diehard SAAB enthusiast and I am very known in the SAAB community. I have 100% feedback on ebay and outside ebay, Just ask around and you will see. I am selling this beauty because I was blessed with an adorable baby girl and after a lot of talk with the wife for over a year I was convinced that It's about time to let go of this beauty instead of having it sitting in a the garage for the next 6 years untill My baby is old enough to ride in it. I really hope this Amazing car will find someone that will enjoy it, appreciate it and treat it with the love it deserves. So let me get to some of the details on the car; I have a very long list of upgrades and very rare parts that went into this car. Here are a few items from that list. 2- New convertible top. 3- New brake calipers, rotors and pads (cross drilled Zimmerman), New hand brake cables. 4- Lowered by Swedish Lejeforse (B&G) springs and Brillstein shocks. 5- 17" Viggen style wheels and P zero 215 40 17 tires. 6- All ball joints replaced and known to wear suspension bushings replaced. 7- New dash. 8- New 140MPH speedometer 9- New speed sensors all 4 wheels. 10- New Hella 550 fog lights with Piaa plasma 5000k bulbs. 11- New Hella H4 European code Head lights with piaa plasma 5000k. Major visibility improvement over US spec. 12- New European clear corner lamps. 13- New 2.5 inch free flow catless sport exhaust system with dual chrome tip. Sound like a Ferrari 14- Open air filter. 15- Swedish dynamics red APC box/ ecu and 30lb red injectors. 16- New SAAB VDO Vision gauges oil press, volts and oil temp 17- Updated to 5 pcs convertible spoiler from 1993 conv instead of the 91 3 pcs. 18- Added Saab OEM trunk spoiler, very rare. 19- SAAB wide heavy duty rally skid plate. very rare as well. 20- Custom short shifter with reverse lock out. 21- Kenwood stealth classic head unit, with hideaway automatic turn key option + Kenwood 6 cd changer. 22- Upgraded front tranny mount with solid billet aluminum unit from 3 trolls performance (Gary Moore) between this mount and the short shifter the car shifts pretty crisp and precise and feels much sportier than stock. Also new side engine mount. 23- A few weeks ago after the paint job a new 2.3 cylinder head and 2.1 Intake replaced the 2.0 head and intake for a smoother power curve and better top end. For an estimated 240hp. All temp sensors thermostat, hoses, belts.. etc has been replaced as well. 24- Also a brand new original SAAB (not rebuilt) 91+ Gear box was installed when I first got the car and it shifts and drives better than any other saab I have ever driven. 25- New radiator. 26- All hoses and belts replaced. 27- New fuel pressure regulator 28- Upgraded turbo to a the Garrett T3 unit for a better midrange and top end power. and many many more parts that is too long to list. Basically the car is in an excellent show field conditions and drives like a dream. You will love this thing and so is everyone that sees it or rides in it. Now here is a list of some current minor imperfections that do not need replacement and will not need replacement for many years to come. 1- The Convertible top has one small pin hole that had been treated with fabric mender which has been lasting for the last 3 years without any issues. This is a very small hole, it's hard to see and it does not leak in rain or during wash. 2- Passenger side window has a 1/4" scratch. 3- The windshield has wiper marks. It's the original SAAB OEM windshield. 4- The driver seat shows a bit of wear but still looks great. I do have another seat in great conditions that will go with the car to the new owner so it can be bolt it in when the time comes. 5- The wheels have very minor curb rash, that is very hard to see. see photos. 6- The new dash (4 years old now) has 2 very tiny hair line cracks, one 1/4" in the center at the very front where dash meets the windshield (very hard to notice). and the other is about 1/8" at the corner of the left speaker ( also very hard to notice) 7- Seat heaters do not work and honestly I have never seen them work in any Classic 900. 8- For emission test depending on your state or your country, you might have to swap the 2.5" empty cat with a standard 2.5 inch one. Other than these items the saab is in mint conditions..please understand that this is not a brand new car. It is a restored car that is still One of the coolest, most beautiful, most rare thought after saab ever made. Over all I would rate the car @9.85 out of 10, however i would rate it @ 15 out of 10 when it comes to beauty and joy of owning and driving. This is by far the most beautiful 1991 Turbo SE I have ever seen. Sadly I have to let go of this irreplaceable jewel. The car is now fully restored and tuned and ready to go to a new proud owner. The joy of owning and driving this car is almost priceless. I honestly don't want to sell it but have to. The car drives very fast and pulls very strong while getting great gas mileage something that Saabs are known for. Getting on the highway you can easily hit 100 mph and if you have a nice stretch of road you can wow your self with 140MPH . When driving this car or even walking to it expect to get compliments from the most random people. Trust me you will love this car like nothing else. you will get complements from everyone everywhere, from guys on their super bikes, Guys in their super cars or exotics, guys in their real old classics, truck drivers, city bus drivers, police officers, and from every random person walking on the side walk or crossing the street. From a young hottie to a seven year old kid to a grand Ma. I mean tons of complements. Do I really want to sell this thing???? Any way Please serious offers only. car sold as is, No warranties. Shipping arrangments and shipping costs are the buyers full responsibilty however I will do my best to help the new oner get this beauty safely and quickly to it's new home. Thanks and best wishes.
