Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1981 Porsche 928 4.5 liter V8. It is a 5 speed manual, black exterior with black interior. It is for parts or for restoration. I was going to restore it myself, but I am moving up to Rhode Island to go to police academy, and can't take two cars. So, my loss is your gain. A little about the car. The good: BRAND new tires. Less than 2 miles on them. literally. I bought them for 600, drove it home, has been sitting ever since. Rare staggered phone dial rims. They came off a newer 944 turbo. They are pretty rare set of rims, as the 928's didn't have staggered rims. They are in pretty great shape. Low miles for the year. I am pretty sure it's the actual miles. Very very very little rust. the only rust is on the battery well. (pretty common.. and easily repairable) The body is in great shape, no rust on the frame/undercarriage. I had it up on a lift before I bought it to check, and everything is straight, no rust down below, only on the battery well like stated. See the rust in the pictures. Engine is in great shape, runs strong. Headlights work. this is a big problem for 928s, and usually very expensive. The bad: Interior will need a little work, that is the biggest issue with the car. See pictures The driver side power window needs fixed. I haven't got it quoted or anything, I just took off the panel to try to fix it myself, and haven't really got around to it. The passenger side window works, as well as the sunroof. The seats are power seats, from a 944 turbo. They don't match the car, but you can put seat covers on them. The car grinds if you try to speed shift it. I had it quoted by a mechanic and he says it needs the hydraulic fluid changed or something like that for the clutch, and possibly a new master/slave cylinder. He said its not the transmission or clutch, as it stays in gear and does not overrev. He quoted the work at 450 dollars. The car is very drivable, I drove it all the time before I got the new tires on it. It can easily be restored, or used as parts. (there are a lot of great parts on it... besides the interior it is in great shape). The car is sold AS-IS, with no warranty. It can be picked up locally in Pittsburgh, PA 15243. I would be willing to pick up from the airport for no charge. Thanks for looking, and feel free to ask any questions!
