DUE TO THE MARKINGS, THIS VEHICLE WILL NOT BE SOLD TO CALIFORNIA BUYERS. PLEASE SAVE US BOTH THE PROBLEMS AND IF YOU ARE A CALIFORNIA, DO NOT BID OR THE AUCTION WILL HAVE TO BE CANCELLED AFTER COMPLETION. With that said, up for bid is this 1990 Ford Crown Victoria original California Highway Patrol Unit, #E390999. This car was put in service with the CHP on 04/17/91 and retired on 11/30/93. It was then transferred to the California Youth Authority (CYA). The CYA sold the car on 09/12/07, when we purchased it. When CHP retired the Crown Vic, they left the cage, spotlights and pushbumper on the car. It is equipped with a 5.8 Liter V-8. We began to restore the car to in-service condition when we first purchased it, but it has been sitting in the back of our shop unfinished for the past two years. We decided to let someone else finish restoring this car. Since purchasing the car, we have done the following: Repainted the car to the black and white CHP color scheme Added correct deck and mirror lights (Not wired) New front brake pads and rotors New mufflers and tail pipes Replaced the shotgun rack, map light and radio head (None of these are wired) Replaced the dash board with an uncracked unit The Crown Vic still needs, at minimum, the following: Equipment wired and hooked up Fuel gauge inoperable Odometer & Trip Odometer inoperable. The speedometer works perfectly. This is a common flaw among these Crown Vics, due to a gear in the speedometer cluster breaking. The vehicle is being sold as exempt from mileage disclosure due to it's age anyway. Air conditioning does not work Steering feels "loose", may need some work The car probably needs more attention. We have only tried to touch on the major points. The buyer assumes all responsibility for the legal use of this vehicle. It is not intended as a "daily driver". It is to be utilized as a show vehicle. The vehicle must be transported out of California via truck or trailer. The Crown Vic starts and seems to run fine, but we have never driven it any distance since taking it out of the back of our shop. We recommend the buyer have the car thoroughly serviced prior to driving it any distance. IMPORTANT! We DO NOT finance vehicles. We accept PAYPAL for DEPOSITS ONLY. We DO NOT accept PAYPAL for any payment of the vehicle other than the deposit. You must have your funds readily available at the end of the auction for payment. This is a legal binding contract to purchase a vehicle. Failure to follow through will result in negative feedback and a complaint to Ebay. We DO NOT accept credit cards, however if your Paypal account permits it, you may use them to pay for the deposit payment only, through Paypal. We do not accept them directly. VEHICLE INFORMATION: Be advised, this is a used vehicle, and as such, it may have or develop issues or problems at any moment. It is likely not perfect. I can't guarantee that I described every physical and internal defect or flaw. The vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Please don't have unreasonable expectations that this is a new car. The auction could be canceled at any time, for any reason deemed by the seller. I've done my very best to describe the vehicle as honestly as possible. I don't know everything about the vehicle's condition and don't claim to. I didn't go over every inch of the car inside and out, but tried to accurately describe the major points. The vehicle has been described as accurately as we know of its condition at the time of the auction. The information listed in the auction is subject to unintentional error. We know of no reason why you couldn't drive it anywhere, but of course cannot make any guarantees. Federal Law states that any vehicle over ten years old is exempt from mileage reporting due to age. Mileage may vary upon delivery due to occasional use and test drives. Some vehicles are factory equipped with only a 5 digit odometer. On these vehicles, mileage indicated in the auction is an odometer reading, as the odometer may only be capable of 5 digits. On these cars, mileage indicated by the odometer may or may not be correct. Please email any other questions you might have. VEHICLE SHIPPING AND PICKUP: If you need a vehicle shipped, there are numerous vehicle-shipping companies. The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen is the responsibility of the BUYER. It would be advisable to locate your own shipping company if you’re an over sea’s customer. We will be here to assist with the transport by supervising the loading of the vehicle onto the truck, and other details as needed. Make sure you inquire to DAS information regarding insurance coverage's on the vehicles they transport. The vehicle can be stored free of charge for up to two weeks after the auction has ended, or longer with prior notification and agreement. Vehicles left past the agreed storage date are subject to a $15.00 per day storage fee. We are open for vehicle pick up during the week. We are not open on the weekend, but can make an exception with prior arrangement. Sorry but we spend weekends with our families. VEHICLE REGISTRATION, SALES TAX, SMOG, FEES, ETC: We are a licensed California auto dealer. The state requires that if you're out of state and plan on coming here to pick up the vehicle, you need to know that California law REQUIRES the buyer to pay sales tax, registration, and smog fee's if they pick up the car and drive it away. This is still the LAW even if you put the car on your trailer and it never touches the California roadway. If you're out of state, avoid can avoid all of these required fees by having your car shipped to your state. This in most cases is less expensive anyway by the time you figure gas, lodging, and other expenses. All sales require a $55.00 DMV and paperwork fee. This covers the costs of our mailings of the title and bill of sale. PAYMENT INFORMATION: Please follow the rules of the auction after it is completed, regarding deposit and full payment deadlines. Anyone not following through with the auction will be reported to Ebay and NEGATIVE FEEDBACK will be left. There is a clear title on the vehicle. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 must be received by me within 24 hours of the close of auction via Paypal, money order, or cashiers check, sent via overnight express mail. After that, full payment needs to have been received within the next five business days of the close of auction. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL AS PAYMENT FOR THE BALANCE DUE. In other words, full payment balance after deposit is due 5 business days after the auction close date, and must be paid via cash (in person only for cash), cashiers check, or money order.
