The shock towers are in great shape, as are the framerails and floorboards. Over the last 8 years we have put over 30,000 miles on the car and never a problem. It's not nearly perfect, but it's solid and a great find! A great example of an un-modified 2002! We are selling the car as we have relocated and are looking to purchase a house...where there will be no place to park the car. The Reserve is set much lower than the "Buy It Now" price. Don't hesitate to email me with questions. Thank you for your interest! On Apr-21-10 at 09:48:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Below are some snippets of additional info based on questions received- All electric items work properly except for the windshield washer fluid pump. The heater works well even on the coldest of mornings. As for rust, the car is 38 years old so there is certainly some superficial rust. In the 8 years we have owned the car we have never found anything major or of concern in terms of structural rust. The floorboards, rocker panels, and shock towers are all solid. The paint was resprayed a year prior to our purchase of the vehicle in 2002...nearly 10 years out on a respray is pretty good. The paint is showing it's age on the top surfaces- hood, roof, and trunk. The color (Agave) is a really good match to the inside panels. The paint looks good considering it's been parked in the sun and rain while I've been at work for the last 7 years. Unfortunately I do not have the beltline trim. The previous owners removed it when the can was painted, filled the holes, and sprayed the car. I have been tempted many times to buy the trim and put it back on. It wouldn't be too much trouble. On Apr-23-10 at 11:03:24 PDT, seller added the following information: We also have the BMW Factory Repair Manual on CD. Over 900 pages!
