Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a very original 1952 MG TD. I am listing it for a retired teacher who has owned it since 1968. It is a great little car with no rust that I could find anywhere, and he claims as far as he knows it never had any rust. Since he owned it, it has always been garaged kept. The car was last driven about 2 years ago, but has been run up to about one year ago. He claims it runs great and it never smoked or had any issues with the engine at all. Two years ago he had all the wheel cylinders and the master cylinder restored by White Post Restorations in Virginia and the brakes are still solid. About three years ago he also had the transmission totally restored at a cost of over 2,000.00. He has the receipts for the work that was done. The top is a very high quality top that was purchased from England, it is a high grade canvas top. It also comes with the side curtains. The chrome on the car looks good and should clean up to look great. The car had been repainted a long time ago and the paint still shines, but the quality of the job it self was not great. There are some runs in a couple of areas. I believe this was the only time it had been repainted. The tires are good with the owner claiming the spare tire is one of the original tires from new. The seat and door panels look great and are black in color. The fabric on the dash, mostly over the glove box door has some winkles and could use some attention. This truly is a very nice original car that other then the paint has never been molested throughout it's 58 years of existence. Most of these cars have been tinkered with, and changed throughout their lives, one like this one is a rarity to find these days. If you have any questions please ask and if I do not have an answer I will make sure I get one for you.
