Vehicle Detail
1989 Isuzu Trooper 2.6l 5 speed. Runs and drives, no smoke, 4wd engages smoothly. No rust issues, just surface as seen in the pictures. Previous owner installed the older style grill and lights, I have the original if you would like to switch back. He told me the clutch and front drive axles have been done in the last 15,000 miles, clutch feels good. New head gasket. Tires have tons of tread. If you would like to make your own assessment of the condition of the vehicle, I encourage you to come and see it for yourself. I wouldn’t want anyone to be disappointed with their purchase, it’s nice for its age, but is not like a new car, it’s 30 years old. Would make an awesome beach or trail rig. I’m doing this auction as a NO RESERVE, $1 minimum sale so bid to win, high bidder takes it home :) $500 PayPal deposit due within 24hrs of auction close. If you are bidding from afar, you arrange shipping and I will assist however I can. Please let me know if you have any questions. Happy biddingOn Feb-08-19 at 08:30:59 PST, seller added the following information: msgeastham Hello, The trooper looks great. A couple quick questions: Does the truck burn or leak oil - do you have to add oil between oil changes? Does the truck lose coolant at all - does that ever have to be topped off? Does the fuel injection seem to work well - does the motor run smoothly? Thanks, I look forward to bidding! Mike answers: Thanks for the email, I will answer these questions to the best of my knowledge, but I have not had the Trooper long enough to give you an accurate assessment of oil consumption. I bought this about a month ago knowing the head gasket was blown and it didn’t run. The previous owner used it as his daily driver until the head gasket issue and said he had no other problems at the time. After I did the head gasket, I of course changed the oil and coolant. It started right up... continued in next email I ran it for a few minutes and changed the oil again, knowing there would inevitably be residual coolant in the oil passages from the previous head gasket issue. After the second oil change, there has been no mixing of fluids. As far as how it runs, I’ve never had a 2.6 to compare it to, but it seems to run well. It’s not quite as smooth as my 2.8, but I figure that is just the difference between the two motors, or the elimination of the smog pump. Fluid levels have stayed constant...contd.. .since the gasket replacement, but it’s only been maybe 30 miles. I hope this information helps, I’m sorry I don’t have more history with the truck to give you better details. Let me know if you have additional questions or if you are able to see/drive it for yourself before the auction closes, this would be the best way to make a full assessment for yourself. Thanks
