Vehicle Detail
This 1975 F250 started it's life with the Corps of Engineers here in Texas. It was purchased new by the Corps in December of 1974 and put into service in March of 1975 in West Texas. It was rigged out with the 8' bed by Koenig and Ramsey PTO prior to being put into service. It remained with the Corps from 1975 till 1987 at which time it was put in service by the Texas National Guard in the West Texas area. At that time it received the tan paint. The Guard utilized it from 1987 till 2013 when it was purchased by the individual I purchased it from. He was in the service and had hoped to custom it out to his taste but it ended up sitting most of the time and was forced to sell. You can see the original Corps black and white paint clearly where I removed the pair of 'Dodge' mirrors that had been installed for whatever reason. Couldn't take that. The truck is in very good running condition. It is stout to say the least! Everything works on the truck as should with the exception of the gas gauge and heater. Motor works on heater but water lines were removed at some time so I assume it needs a heater core, but not sure. Every light, signal, speedometer/odometer, pto, transfer all work as should. Motor is very strong, no smoke, great compression, no leaks anywhere as far as drivetrain, etc. The 4 speed/clutch work perfect. Brakes work as should, emergency brake even works! All glass is good with the exception of front which has a crack. The mileage reads 59,038, which of course it has rolled over but I truly believe from it's condition it has only rolled once, and is 159,038. These work horses were sent to job and back, not a lot of pleasure cruising. The truck looks to have been undercoated new, or very shortly after as evident by the very small amount of rust. The only rust other than surface rust here and there that can be considered rust through, are a couple of small pin holes on the floor pans as seen in photos. All I did was clean the old truck and get it running. I did go ahead and replace the water pump and hoses as it was leaking slightly. Engine bay is as is from factory as you can see. No rattle can mess. If the truck does not sell we will do it correctly when the rest of the truck is painted and detailed out. The truck will make someone an excellent vintage work or shop vehicle as is. And it would be a great candidate for a full resto. If it does not sell this week at auction, we are going to spend some time with it and build a killer ride. The body is near perfect and would take very little prep prior to painting. We thought about changing out the bed, but with the history of the truck decided it should stay as is. And the bed is solid as a rock. While servicing in engine bay, I also found the Buck Tag, or line tag as some call it as you can see in photos. These usually never leave the production plant. Doesn't make it more valuable, just cool. I am also including the original wheels, and a set of 16' Buckshot Mudders, only 3 are good as one has tear in sidewall but they are in near new condition. The truck would look better in my opinion with a tall off road/mud tire such as the Buckshots. Also have the factory steering wheel included in the sale. I tried to include photos showing a little of everything but I am more than happy to take any and all specific photos you would like. Also I have included a short video at bottom of description. While I have not sold many classic rides on ebay, all have been exactly as described and new owners loved the ride. Check out my reviews. I always respond within 24 hours or less to all questions. If you are a first time bidder, or new to ebay you MUST message me prior to biding or your bid will be rejected. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of end of auction with remainder due in 7 days. I can also assist in securing a dependable shipper if needed. Good luck to all bidders! If you are a Ford freak like I am, you know these do not come up that often, especially in this condition and rigged out like this one. This thing could be one unique beast with very little money & effort, or just enjoy as is! Starting, short walk around video: https://youtu.be/4klr6e7mBU8
