The BMW 3.0 CS A (Automatic) VIN 2232550 was manufactured on August 07th, 1973 and delivered on August 20th, 1973 to the Swiss BMW importer in Zurich. The original colour was Fjord metallic, paint code 037. At some point the car was imported to the US and was owned by an auto mechanic in Duluth GA. Sometime about 1986 a customer test driving a new BMW 633i crashed and totalled that car at which time the then current owner of this car bought the wreck and installed that engine and transmission into this car. Shortly after the car was restored by a then new auto-body shop adjacent to the mechanic as a means of showing off their skills and generating more business. In the 90's the mechanic stopped using the car when he starting raising a family. I bought the car in 2014 and have so far only had the gas tanks resealed last summer. I need to make room in my drive-way for a van I need to transport my in-laws. The floor needs repair and there is a section just aft of the passenger rear wheel that needs attention.
