This particular Truck spent it's entire 52 year life in & around Salem, Oregon ; a true SURVIVOR with all of it's original GM sheetmetal! Originally High-Optioned, Deluxe Panorama Big Back Window, 3/4 TON with 283 Small block V8, 4 speed trans, 17.5 wheels, this year was the last year of the 1960-1966 body style. Heavy-Duty NP205 cast iron divorced Transfer Case behind a 1996 GM NV4500 5-speed Transmission, with granny low & overdrive. Has a disc brake driveline E-brake. All behind a Custom built 4-bolt main 3970010 Hi-nickle block 383 Stroker, churning out 400+ Horse power, 7 quart MOROSO oil pan (engine only has a few hundred miles on it). Newly painted dash back to the original "Factory Fawn" color with newly restored ORIGINAL Deluxe Gauge cluster with Tachometer. Brand new Charcoal grey molded carpet. This truck is 99% Original & unmolested. Never been lifted or hacked, rather all factory Re-arched springs all put back to factory hangers using all factory hardware to retain originality. Crossover steering with a GM 2WD Power steering box eliminating the poor push/pull old style power steering. Factory GM CUCV Military axles from a 1 TON mid 80's Army truck with Factory Detroit Tru Trac torque sensing lockers front & rear with 4:56 gears. Dana 60 Kingpin front Axle with Warn Premium Lockout hubs, Corp 14 Bolt Rear. Both axles were completely rebuilt with all new bearings & seals. You can literally roast the tires in the first 3 gears without even trying. New Disc/Disc master cylinder Brake Booster with 4 wheel Disc brakes. Every single bit of the drivetrain on this truck that makes it Run & Stop perfect has been Upgraded with brand new parts. You will be very hard-pressed to ever find another truck like this; it's one of only 180 made in 1966. Out of 250,000 long bed fleetside trucks built in 66 only 1700 were 4WD. They just didn't make many during those years due to the 50% higher cost of the truck. Most 4x4s were Military, Forest Service or Private buyers with the $$$ to pay for the premium! I Challenge you to even "FIND" another one right now anywhere in the USA. If you do it will have something WAY WRONG: small back window, straight 6 engine, rusted out, YOU SIMPLY WON'T FIND ONE!
