It looks nice, runs great, and is an awesome driver. We purchased this car out of Texas, where it spent its entire life. It has never seen salt or a harsh winter so it is exceptionally clean and totally rust free. The car was sold new at Ryan Motorcars in Fort Worth, TX. There are numerous receipts for maintenance over the years from the 1980's. All of these receipts also verify the low mileage. The market on this generation SL is absolutely red hot right now and this example is priced to sell. Very low mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. There is copy of the Autocheck report on this car pictured below. It is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low mileage. The low original mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but also by the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as "Actual." This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning the engine in the car is the correct and original unit that was installed in the factory new. Very importantly this 380SL has the "vehicle data card" from the Mercedes factory, which is pictured below. It shows the original engine number to be "116962 12 001842." We have checked the engine and confirmed that same engine number stamped on the left side of the engine block. All of the paint and trim codes are also correct and match the vehicle data card and the data tag by the radiator. The maintenance book is pictured below showing many of the stamps from the Mercedes dealer for the scheduled maintenance. This 380SL comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. I have personally put about 25 miles on tis Mercedes and during that time it was flawlessly reliable and a pleasure to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Mercedes is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Champaign (473) over Tan interior (234) with a Dark Brown soft-top (746). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the vehicle data card pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this 560SL really is. The car comes with a number of receipts from service and maintenance. Also included with the car are the original owners manual, metal plate with the original owners name and car information, books, tool roll complete with Mercedes wrenches and tools, Mercedes first aid kit, two convertible top wrenches, spare tire and rim, jack, maintenance booklet, Becker radio card, cruise control card, warranty booklet, climate control card, and miscellaneous other items from when the car was sold new, which are all pictured below. As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the 560SL, just give us a call. condition Exterior The Champagne exterior is in excellent driver condition condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. The wheels are in great shape with a brilliant finish. The Michelin tires are correctly sized 205/70 and have plenty of tread left. The convertible soft top is in nice shape with no rips. The rear windows are clean and not yellowed, and do have one small hole in the typical spot where the window contacts the top mechanism. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some blemishes around the car that are too small to show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. There are a couple nicks on the left rear tail light and on the top of the hardtop, which are shown in the photos below. As one can seen in the many photos of the underside, this 380SL is very clean underneath. From living its entire life in Texas the car has absolutely no rust issues at all. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks. The car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Interior The Tan interior of the 560SL looks fantastic. The seats look just in person as they do in the photos with no rips or split seams. The seat is not overly worn in the typical area on the driver's bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to the be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet looks great with no rips or holes. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash is in amazing condition with no fading or sun damage. The original door panels look great with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The Pioneer CD player radio with an auxiliary input sounds great and gets good reception from the manual antenna. The original Becker radio is also included with the car and pictured below. The wood trim looks spectacular with no fading or delamination; the wood trim on this era Mercedes is know for cracking the the wood in this 380SL is exceptionally nice. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire and rim (which has never been used), jack, and tool kit with the correct Mercedes wrenches. The excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life. The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Mechanical This 380SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition. As stated above I have personally put over 25 miles on the car with absolutely no issues. The engine starts right away every time and runs well. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no strange noises, and the car performs quite nice overall. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos. Please note in the video that how the dash warning lights work. There are no "Check Engine" lights that stay on. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, wipers, and fan. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The a/c works and blows. The a/c compressor does click on and engages properly. This Mercedes is smooth and quick with the V8 engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day. The car runs and drives as well as it looks. Overall Condition Overall, this 1982 380SL is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. Low mileage and original examples of this era SL draw a huge premium. The market on for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for low mileage examples in excellent condition like this car. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
