Sheet metal and paint never required repair Original engine, well-maintained, untouched except for replaced Bosch ignition coil in 2000 Starts and runs strong, no issues Original convertible roof, excellent condition Original top boot (folded convertible top cover, with snaps and straps) Original seats (fronts need to be restuffed, original rubber filler has compacted), all seat covers are excellent 1979 Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo Clear title from original owner Less than 1000 miles on 2004 tires Original trunk liner, jack, spare (no miles) Black coco mats over original rubber mats Original owner’s manual and keys Ziebart rust protection, no-rust body, floorpan, fenders, doors, etc. Wheels have dots of surface rust, could be cosmetically refinished but otherwise fine New battery 2018, recent oil change Gearbox also original, shifts fine except for downshift from 3rd to 2nd. I’ve been told this is a stuck syncro...might free up with more frequent driving, or require a gearbox cleanout. Regular driving/upshifting works fine. I purchased this car new from my local Volkswagen dealer in 1979, as a collector. I had a company car, therefore drove this only for fun on weekends...over 39 years! Car is now garaged in my Naples, Florida winter home. It’s still great fun, but I’ve decided to free up my space for everyday drivers. I plan to sell it in January 2019 while I’m in Florida.
