Vehicle Detail

Update 10/4 - Just received the latest oil analysis from Blackstone. I can email you the full analysis if you are interested but here are some of the comments - "The land Cruiser is getting yet another excellent report" "Potassium and sodium are low, so coolant contamination is not an issue. Impressive for 261,734 miles" **Ask questions! Make me an offer! I may be able to work something as far as delivering half way... reach out to me before bidding though to work out the specifics** I bought this 80 back around November of 2016. At that time I spent a few months running through it, baselining and bringing it up to the dependability of a daily driver. Most of the work listed below was done in the first 2-3 months of ownership. This is my primary vehicle and it has never given me any issues or left me stranded. PHH - pesky heater hose replacement. If you aren't aware of what this is please google it.Replaced most hoses (radiator/heater) under the hood, most are using breeze clampsNew heater control valveThoroughly cleaned the interior, removed all carpeting and washed as well as replaced all of the padding and also used a dynamat material in most places.Removed non-working factory alarm and installed keyless entryFixed driver and passenger seat gears (gamiviti)New pcv valve, hose and clampsNew oil pump sealReplaced front crank shaft sealRadiator flush (used toyota red coolant)Fluid change - transfer/transmission/front and rear endsNew beltsNew Water pumpNew thermostatNew battery (Sears DieHard)New Front Axle Bearings & knuckle rebuild with new seals.Rear axle rebuild - bearings and sealsNew front and rear flexible brake linesNew power antenna mastRemanufactured rear calipers (3/17), new pads and rotorsRemanufactured front calipers (9/18), new pads and rotors.Cleaned and extended front and rear diff breathersNew front and rear shocks (KYB)All new parking brake parts, equalizer, cable, springs, etcWeathertech floor linersRemoved roof rack and wind deflector (holes professionally patched)Rear pinion seal replacedNew Tires (KO2s - less than 14k on them)Replaced burned out dash lights (although the P(ark) light doesn't work sometimes)New hornsNew depo glass headlights with bulbsRange Rover cup holder installedNew radiator capNew Tie Rod Ends and alignmentAC - reman compressor, new dryer, expansion valve and condensor (AC blows COLD)Driveshafts serviced - new u joints and balancedNew cap and rotorNew distrib sealNew plugs and wiresNew PS pump with high/low pressure hosesNew valve cover sealReplaced most vacuum hosesNew air intake gasketNew accelerator cableInstalled a rearview mirror that has outside temp and compassNew leather on front seats and console (lseat.com)Seat heating elements installed on front seatsNew head unit with rear cam, BT and DVDNew front and rear speakersNew Fuel FilterNew fusable linkNew blue fan clutchNew cooling fan (blades)Installed front mud flaps (toyota)Slee short bus bumper Slee step slidersNew exhaust and catScan gauge installedInterior lights replaced with LEDCustom grill (I have the original one still intact)New starterExterior freshly professionally detailed (8/18)New brake master cylinder (9/18)Fresh oil change 9/18 < 20 miles on it.As you can see I spent a LOT of money and time. A lot of things didn't necessarily need to be replaced but I wanted to make sure that this was a dependable driver. Here are some things that I would probably address if I were to keep the truck over the next year or two:Rear locker actuator isn't working properly. I need to remove and test it but haven't had the time. It was working last year but the last time I check it would not lock in (light on dash would just blink for the rearIt doesn't leave any oil on my driveway but the rear seal must have a small leak (very common). A slight drip of oil will just hang on the bellhousing but never leaves anything on the pavement. I would never even consider fixing this unless there was another major reason to remove the trans. I do get some clicking from the front birfs when doing tight turns. It is only an annoyance but I probably would have changed them out when doing the front knuckle rebuild if I had known. I would definitely plan on changing them the next time the knuckles need to be done - but that is just me. If I give them a little grease they do quiet down some. I spent a LOT of time stripping the frame and repainting it with Eastwood's chassis black paint. It looked amazing and will share the pictures if you'd like. Unfortunately it didn't hold up through the winter and now surface rust is showing on some of the undercarriage. I do not recommend their product at all. I'd probably go through getting it down to bare metal again and try POR or something different this time. It will burn a little oil between oil changes - like a half quart. I just always check every few weeks or before a long trip. Some clearcoat is burned through on the hood and one body flare.Tripometer doesn't reset properly - odometer and all other gauges work fine.No head gasket issues at all. I've done the blackstone oil analysis a couple of times and will share the results. I'll probably send it out again the next time I do an oil change since I'm looking to sell. The cooling system is in top shape with almost every component replaced. I can sit in Jersey City traffic for an hour on a 100+ degree day and it will stay at about 195 degrees (ranges from 175-185 on a typical day). Most of the parts used in the list above were Toyota OEM. Passed NJ inspection with no issues. Clean NJ title in hand. I believe that I am the 2nd owner but feel free to run a carfax to confirm. The main reason that I'm selling is because I bought a 1970 FJ40. That is keeping me plenty busy and fulfilling my land cruiser needs :) I know it is an extensive list above but I'm sure that I missed a number of things that I've done. There is no way that I'll get all of the money and time back that I put into this but that comes with the territory. :) I also have a box of spare parts that will go with the truck. Please feel free to ask any questions! I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere. This is really a great truck and hope that it goes to somebody that can appreciate what has been done and also enjoy it. Please make arrangements to come see it or send a mechanic. I try to be an open book when it comes to listing anything like this on Ebay.
