Vehicle Detail
I have for sale my 1960 Corvette. It has had what I would call a frame on restoration. It has a 1962 327 Corvette engine with a Muncie M20 4 speed transmission. Here is a list of things that are new on the car:All new interior including new foam and springs in the seats. New dash. New heater. All gauges have been rebuilt including speedometer and tach. New wiring harness.Steering from box to horn button rebuilt.Suspension all redone including new leaf springs.New factory style exhaust and hangers. Aluminized shorty headers.New brakes. Discs on the front.Engine has been rebuilt and is just broken in with about 5,000 miles. $1,200 spent on transmission and another $1,200 on rear end.I have receipts for all the mechanical work. The body and paint. I would conservatively rate the paint an 8 out of 10. Black cars show a lot and there are minor imperfections. The frame is excellent but not detailed. Same goes for the engine compartment. Most of the chrome trim is new. Bumpers replated. Stainless coves and spears are new. There is some original chrome on the car and it is in very good condition. Some of the very expensive hardtop stainless has dings and scratches and is good driver quality. All of the weatherstrip and gaskets are new. Windshield and hardtop plexiglass are new and properly dated. The car runs and drives perfectly with no rattles. Goes straight down the road. It has a special radiator and never goes above 185 degrees.I have stacks of paperwork, records and receipts going back nearly fifty years. Here are a few concerns the car has.The car was originally ordered without the convertible top. A new black top and brand new top frame were purchased for the car by previous owner. Chrome latches and all rubber are brand new. After being removed to paint underneath it, I just set it back in its compartment and put the adjustment bolts in it but I haven't adjusted it for fit as I prefer the hardtop or none at all. Deck lid latching is from a 61 so it would not look original to a 60. The condition of the top is like new but in the time it has spent folded up and vibrating it has worn through spots on either side. Improperly stored without the blankets. The back window is as new.The window regulators are a bit worn. The wipes, rubber and felt are new but if you go too far rolling up or down you may have to help the window reengage the teeth sometimes. This is a good quality car that you can drive every day and not have to worry about road stones hitting a $100,000 car. I have a clear Ohio title in my name.I've tried to describe everything about the car to the best of my ability but if you have any questions you can text me at 4402280524 or email jimdoliver@hotmail.com. Thanks.
