One of the most effective TDI's VW has ever designed; harnessing oodles of torque, smooth shifting, taught suspension and nimble handling, it really is a pleasure to drive. It impresses everyone when I tell them how many miles are on it; 236,356 happy miles driven with so many more left to be had.I am the 3rd owner, bought from a close friend when they upgraded to a Tesla. Now I find myself upgrading as well. We hate to see this car go, but no longer have room to keep it. This car has been meticulously cared for, meeting or exceeding all scheduled maintenance. I routinely average 45 mpg even up and down the hills of Duluth, and highway driving delivers around 50 mpg. The majority of the miles were driven in Texas, and never used during the winter months after moving to Minnesota. It was always covered and placed in climate controlled storage till the snow and salt was gone. Post Salvage Repairs and UpgradesMy friend worked closely with Meyerhoff Auto Haus in Austin, TX (which exclusively deals with TDI's), to source this car from salvage. The front passenger-side collision was fully repaired by an expert body shop in Houston. Then Meyerhoff performed a full tune and engine optimization, and installed numerous upgrades (174,286 miles at time of work. The dash and trim are in very good condition. Fit and finish is excellent. The grey leather is clean and bright and cushions are all in great condition except for wear marks on the outer edges of the front seats and some pitting in the crevices of the rear passenger-side seat, but barely noticeable (see photos). All carpet is in excellent condition throughout, and it is equipped with the upgraded all-weather Jetta floor mats.The rear hatch cargo area has the retractable cargo cover, hidden storage compartments, and with the seats folded flat, plenty of room to haul just about anything you need.I upgraded the stereo to a Pioneer head unit. The back-light is color matched to the rest of the dash and correctly wired to the steering wheel controls. This gives you hands free voice operation when paired with your phone through Bluetooth. It also has a USB port for playing music from a flash drive. Sound quality is quite good.All power options are fully functional. These include power locks and windows, multi-position sunroof (which has no interference with the roof rack), heated front seats, rear defroster, rear wiper, and heated side mirrors. The glove box has been outfitted with two extra DC accessory ports. ExteriorOverall the body and paint are in good condition, with only a few very small dings. Absolutely no rust anywhere on the car, top or bottom. The repaired areas included the front passenger-side fender, hood, and front bumper. In these areas, the paint does not appear to be as durable as the factory paint. There were many tiny rock chips in the hood that I touched up (using Dupli-Color AVW2039 Metallic Reflex Silver Volkswagen Exact-Match). These touch-ups are apparent up close, but were necessary to keep the metal free from corrosion. The undercarriage is protected with a robust aluminum skid plate, the renowned TDI Panzer Plate. Included is the Thule Aeroblade roof bar set. I've found these to be a totally invaluable addition. The vehicle is located in Duluth, MN and available for in-person inspection and test-drive (with appointment) and is ready for immediate pick-up at auction close.I am also willing to work with the shipper of your choice to have the vehicle transported anywhere in the world (at the buyer's expense). $500.00 non-refundable deposit due 24 hours after auction ends.
