Vehicle Detail

I have for sale, a fine example of an American classic. 1979 jeep cj5 AMC Renegade. Straight 6, 4.2L, 3spd (manual), 4wd, 4hi - 2hi - 4lo, front lockers, 33x12.5 tires (5). New weber carburetor 2bl, new back brakes and hardware. New rear axle barings and seals. New head gasket, timing chain, and valve job with seals, and water pump. I am a motivated seller, so feel free to buy it now at $8,000 or make me an offer. Has two bestop waterproof front seats and rear bench seat. Rihno lined interior. And bestop soft top and doors. Clean title (exact mileage unknown, because the odometer doesnt have a hundred thousands place, but reads 75,400 ) $8,000 OBOAs-is On Aug-19-18 at 10:33:26 PDT, seller added the following information: ****** I am revising to answer a few questions I have gotten. Here's a link to a video I made this morning (Aug 19th 2018) so you can see it start up, run, and some shots of underneath and a walk around etc. enjoy. https://youtu.be/JR_sqDShO1M Lights, wipers, speedo, oil pressure, battery volt, and HEAT all work. Inside the tub there aren't any rust holes i know of, there are 4 drain holes, there are factory so water can drain out, you could get rubber plugs for them if you're in a colder area and want to plug them for heat, then unplug to drain snow or whatnot. Known issues:• the temp gauge stopped working the other day, not sure if wiring or needs a new sensor• the gas gauge has always been unreliable, i just fill up every 120 miles to be safe Rust spots: No full holes that i know of, seems like early stages in a few spots , i have included new pics that circle these spots. The hood spot use to be covered by the Renegade decals, i removed them so i could check on the hood, because I saw the edge of the crack through the decal, and i want to make sure it wasn't a hole forming. The doors and top:The doors and top and windows are in good shape, but the top does have 2 small slits about inch long, right over where the main support bar for the top is. It happened years ago (I've had the jeep 12+years) and i've never patched it because it doesn't leak (because its pressed right on the support bar.) Tires have been rotated regularly and all about them same tread. I included one pic. Mileage: exact mileage is unknown, it isn't listed on the title because it has exempt status. The odometer only has 5 spaces XX,XXX . When i got the jeep I believe it had an odometer reading of 35-40 thousand, and now has 75 thousand-ish. There is no radio with the jeep, I had an old one in there, but after it broke I just started using a bluetooth speaker. I used the Large UE-Boom one, I either set it on the center console, or I hung it from the roll bar. and it works great! there is still a speaker mounted in the only speaker location, it's just not connected to anything. If you got a radio, I'd recommend a Boat radio, so you don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain. But the one speaker provision isn't loud enough IMO a big bluetooth works best. There is no alarm system, just the viper sticker to deter. I did have a zone sensor alarm from viper (i use to install those for a living) but i took it out after it malfunctioned (it was 10 years old them) . If you plain on driving this a long distance home, here's what i have to say. I have driven back and forth to Charleston SC from Charlotte NC about a dozen times and never had any issues. that being said, for those of you unaware, it is a 3sp and I would not recommend trying to drive 70+ MPH! When I drove it on the interstate, i always kept it about 55-60 tops. If you're going more than 2 or 3 hours, I'd recommend breaks, it's just what I've always done because it seems like the right thing to do. But in my 12 years I have never had the jeep leave me stranded anywhere, one time the original fan blade broke, but it just made it shaky and got home. And one time i was stuck on the interstate in wayyy backed up traffic in Columbia SC, and it had started to overheat, I just drove on the side of the interstate to the gas station and fixed the issue (had a hose leak). but it's always been reliable for me. during the 12+ years i have owned it, it has been garage kept for about 9-10 of those years. BTW fun tip, the windshield come down very quickly and easily, just two knows to turn by hand. takes seconds. sometimes I drive around wearing goggles with the windshield down and its fun, head turner, and feels like you're driving a tank lol. plus I use to take it to the drive-in theater, with a big boom box (to tune to the theater frequency), and you have a huge unobstructed view of the screen (or scenery) On Aug-19-18 at 10:41:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Oh, and there are no frame issues that i have ever seen. it's solid. front lockers work fine. besides some urban off roading lol (cutting through a median or two.. not that i would disobey the road laws..) It has only been actual off roading once. I took it to Uwharrie National forest and took it though all the mud trails about 7 years ago, never got stuck, we stopped it in the mud pit and tried to make it get stuck, but it climbed out everytime. There's a black bikini top too, it doesn't fit perfect, but i keep it behind the rear seat in case of rain when i have the top off. On Aug-19-18 at 11:40:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Last revision I promise lol, just wanted to make sure i listed everything regarding issues.I lost the key to the center console, it's currently unlocked , so you can use it, but you'll need to replace to lock (inexpensive) if you want to lock it. Also, lastly, the horn doesn't work, i'm sure it is wiring on that one, because the horn was attached to a push button under the dash (beside the steering column) and the wires came undone. the horn works if you rewire it, it's not an aggressive horn, it's kind of funny, i believe it's the original horn and it give a little (almost cartoonish) beep-beep. and since ebay won't let me delete a photo to add a new one, here's what the top looks like on and with the decals it had and one pic with the windshield down-https://i.imgur.com/oVFcTZg.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/2QKlZx8.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/H5fyUzL.jpgOn Aug-20-18 at 18:01:38 PDT, seller added the following information: (revised to lower reserve)On Aug-21-18 at 13:55:53 PDT, seller added the following information: FYI: (I Tried to remove reserve but it kept getting an error, next bid will exceed the reserve)
