Vehicle Detail
I bought this J10 about 5 or 6 years ago and have restored it to my liking over that time. It came out of Georgia, rust free, and I have pretty much rebuilt from one end to the other. Now that it's done I'm ready to move to my next project. Some of the particulars are: BODY: The body was in quite good shape other than a few dings to fix with zero rust. I had it painted Ford Dark Blue Pearl Metallic, which was very close to the original Midnight Blue Poly. I had the bed lined by Line-X. I replaced the tailgate with a flawless NOS. I custom built the front and rear bumpers and had them chromed by a local shop. As Nerf Step bars are not available for a Jeep J10, I purchased and adapted bars for a 2000 Dodge pickup. INTERIOR: The truck already had new headliner and carpet, but I rebuilt the seats and door panels with a tutone color scheme and installed a Kenwood stereo which fit perfectly in the factory hole. SUSPENSION: It has a new BJ's Off-road 4 inch lift, which included new leaf springs, shocks, bushings, and a dropped pitman arm. I rebuilt both driveshafts, and had the front lengthened. The truck has new 285/75R16 Cooper tires and American rims. STEERING: The truck has a new power steering pump, steering gear, and steering stabilizer shock. AXLES: I had the original Dana 44 axle in the front, and the AMC 20 in the rear rebuilt. And the axle ratio changed to 3.73 to 1, I installed new brakes, as well as new emergency brake cables, and new lockout hubs on the front. DRIVE TRAIN:Engine: I replaced the original AMC 360 with an AMC 401 I built for this truck. I bored cylinders .020 over and cut the Crankshaft .010 under on both rods and mains. It has 9.5 to 1 compression pistons, an Edelbrock 2132 performer Camshaft, Edelbrock 2131 Performer intake, Edelbrock 1406 600cfm Carb, and an Edelbrock double row timing chain set. I installed a high flow water pump, and Hedman Headers. A local shop made the custom exhaust. The truck has an HEI distributor. TRANSMISSION: The Torqueflite 727 transmission had just been rebuilt before I bought it, I installed a new flexplate and Torque convertor with the engine swap. ACCESSORIES: The truck has a new starter, new alternator, new AC system, including a new style compressor, new blower motors, and a new expansion valve and hoses. I converted the air conditioning system to R134A, and installed an electric fan in front of the condenser, and wired it to a pressure switch. It blows extremely cold. jeep J10 - YouTube Video will open in a new window Using the eBay App? Paste link into a browser window: [isdntekvideo]
