2002 E39 BMW 530 IAS Here we have a car that drives very nicely, is the quickest E39 I've ever driven, and has low miles for its age. The interior is near perfect, with no rips, tears, or marks on any of the seats. This car has some things that need to be repaired, and I do not have the time to them myself, not the money to pay someone else to do them. The SES light is on, and shows these codes:P0444 and P2096. The P0444 is for "Purge control valve circuit open" and the P2096 is for excessive leanness. I know there is a vacuum leak somewhere; I recently replaced all of the "cold climate PCV system" hoses and tubes. Unfortunately, I can't find the source of this vacuum leak, and, as mentioned above, I just don't have the time to spend looking for it. (I recently took a new job, and it's taking up almost all of my time. What's left, I don't want to spend working on cars...). Here is a list of items I have replaced in about the past years or so: Power steering suction and return hoses.VANOS oil feed line.Intake boot.intake manifold gasket set, various vacuum hoses, injector o-rings, and all other little doodads needed to reinstall the intake manifold, which i took off in order to install all of the new PCV hoses and tubes.Rebuilt VANOS system. Power steering reservoir and cap.Coolant reservoir tank, with a Behr unit clearly marked "made in Germany".Blower motor resistor.Both Xenon headlamp bulbs. The majority of these items were purchased from FCP Euro, so documentation is available. The speedo is frozen at around 60mph; this is function of my carelessness when replacing the ribbon cable that brings all of the missing pixels back to life. Several of the buttons on the HVAC control unit need to be replaced, as does the ribbon cable; after buggering up the speedo, I'm a little gun shy about these things. I have the ribbon cable if you want to do it.The steering wheel I pulled from my last identical car, and never got around to having it coded to this car's VIN. The right rear pull-up window shade no longer retracts. The battery is weak and should probably be replaced. Basically, what we have here is a fundamentally sound, great driving car, that needs some time and effort put into her to bring her up to snuff. If this sounds like something for you, please bid away. If you want a perfect E39 for the short money that this one is going to fetch, you're not going to be happy, so please do not bid. Also, please take a good look at the photos, and make sure you are content with what you see. Finally, the car also comes with the complete pair of factory Bentley manuals, and two sets of rims. You may have noticed that the car has two different wheels on it; the mates to the ones that are on the car come with it, and are in similar condition as the ones on the car.
