Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am in Atlantis Blue, with dark blue deluxe interior (glove strap, etc.) with hobnail cloth instead of vinyl. It is NOT a WS6 car. It is a slick top-no t-tops. Automatic with air conditioning and some power options. I know nobody wants to look at an auction where some wannabe hero deconstructed a car, then couldn't finish it, and is looking to make a ton of money on a shell and a garage full of parts. Well, most of that is true for me, but I am starting the bid at .99 cents, with NO RESERVE. High bidder gets it-period. I am 43 years old and have a 6 year old. I have had this car for over 3 years, and it has always been garage and storage kept. I have come to the realization that I am not going to be able to restore it anytime soon. But I am going to give someone a good deal. Before I get into details, when I purchased this car, I was not an expert on 79 Trans Ams. I didn't know how to validate a numbers matching car. And frankly, didn't really care, as I was going to make it my own. Now that I have taken a picture of the location on the block where I believe should be a matching last set of VIN numbers, it does not match. But I believe this to have a 403 engine, and although the valve covers have been painted black (you can see blue underneath), the engine looks to be original with the car. But I am selling as a non-numbers matching car, as I read conflicting stories online as to if that number should match the last of the VIN. That being said, I have already done a lot of the work for you. I have the car PHS documented, and the winner receives all of that documentation. I have paid for 2 reproduction window stickers. The tag is current, and the title is free and clear. So you aren't receiving a pile of parts, you aren't receiving a salvage car, and you aren't receiving one with no title; you are receiving an opportunity to re-construct a really cool car. I have a lot more pics, and a lot more information, if someone wants to discuss this car. I have included some pics of parts that come with the car also. I will NOT part it out. The winner receives all of the parts also, including some rare and hard to find ones too. This car has minimal rust, and is a excellent candidate to restore. Shipped to Missouri, spent time in Arkansas, and the rest in Oklahoma. I threw away a few big parts, like the front and rear bumpers, and front seats, back when I knew I could replace them, and they were junk anyway. But I have kept the rest of it, in case the winner wants it. As a bonus, the winner will receive extra parts, like a rare spare tire and inflator, near mint condition shaker setup, near mint condition seat tracks, a jack assembly, 4 excellent condition WS6 wheels, and many others. All of the glass is in good shape. There is a lot of originality here, and I hope someone will restore the car to what it used to be. If you have questions, or need additional pics, please let me know. My feedback and time on E-bay speak for itself. If you want it shipped, you have to handle every bit of that yourself. I will help push it onto the trailer; that's it. And I'm not sure all of the parts will fit inside. I will hold the car in my garage for up to 2 weeks for the winning bidder, unless we make different arrangements. And the car rolls fine, and will go into park, etc. The tires hold air fine, but two of them have very slow leaks. I will help load all of the parts and car; no problem at all. But I would bring a trailer and a large van, moving truck, or big pickup. I'm going to give you every single part I have for that car; that's the right thing to do. Thanks for looking! On Jul-22-18 at 19:26:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Parts list NOT attached to the car that winner receives, that I've found so far (subject to future additions): 1. 3 assorted restoration manuals and repair guides. 2. Tub that has one original seat track, steering shaft and gearbox, 2 exhaust manifolds, and misc. brackets in it. 3. 2 sets of wheel caps and one set of new decals-one set of caps is original, and one is brand new repro. I have not attached the decals to the new repro ones yet. The original caps have some small dings, and I could never find anyone to work those out. The new repro ones are round/correct, and I have the correct RED bird decals, that this car came with. 4. Box of 2-3 pulleys that I purchased on Ebay, because they had been blasted and painted. 5. Cardboard box that includes: another seat track, alternator, carb spacer and gaskets, original DELCO air compressor, 2 large brackets that attached to core support, new OEM shaker elbow in package. 6. Entire core support with fan shroud and radiator still attached. NOTE-battery area is rusty, and probably need to replace entire piece. I kept for label placement, nuts, bolts, etc. 7. Hood with windshield cleaner nozzles and hoses still attached. 8. Original shaker piece with metal ring-one corner is broken. Air cleaner did not come with car, only shaker. 9. Both front fenders-in good condition overall. 10. Cardboard box that includes: nuts and bolts in labeled bags, misc. metal brackets that have been purchased online because they were blasted and painted. 11. Cardboard box that includes all side lights, lenses, metal frames, etc. 12. Heater core box, if I am correct. 13. Fan blade assembly with clutch, etc attached. 14. Rear seats-probably should have thrown them away, but kept them for frames, etc. 15. Both tail lights-small crack in one, and fuel door is missing solid louvered cover. 16. All 4 pieces of glass-windshield has radio antenna still attached at bottom middle. I have not checked printing on all of them, but look to be original. I believe they are blue tinted, but need to double check. 17. Both door panels-need to be trashed. 18. Both metal bumpers and both foam inserts. 19. Inner splash shields-not perfect, but good considering the years of water and junk hitting them from underneath. 20. Box that has brake proportioning valve and a small plastic reservoir in it. 21. 1 blue plastic seat back piece and 3 of the edge trim pieces that are pre-formed and hard to find. 22. 1 tub with all of the wiring harnesses on the car, if I am correct. I did NOT dig every single one of them out to verify. 23. Spare tire and inflator-this one should be correct, and cost me a pretty penny. 24. 1 tub with all pedals, steering wheel, and under dash pieces. 25. 4 OEM WS6 wheels ready to refinish and paint original gold-excellent condition-cost me a pretty penny too. 26. Small box of wiring harnesses and blue dash strap/handle. 27. Jack assembly-another one that wasn't cheap. 28. Bag of seat belts-fairly faded, but should all be there. 29. Hood hinges-light surface rust but in good shape. 30. 2 tubs of interior pieces, gauges, spiral metal cover piece, visors, etc. etc. 31. OEM and UNCUT shaker with NOT rusty air cleaner-complete and cost me some serious dough. 32. Either 3 or 4 OEM seat tracks that appear to be in near mint condition. I thought I had all 4, and am still trying to verify, but these were VERY expensive and hard to find. 33. Power window motors and regulators zip tied together, to keep pieces together. 34. Tub of metal, chrome, and rubber trim pieces that went around doors and windows, pillars, header, etc. 35. Box of horns and misc. under hood pieces. 36. Entire length and run of fuel and brake lines from underside of car. I have hauled these along the ground, stuck them under the car several times, and moved them around, so they won't be perfect, but they will give you a guide to the turns, angles, types of metal uses, etc. I know you can buy repro ones, but I wanted to keep them as a guide. **I am still looking; if I find more, I will post an addendum.
